one more fun fact about rural MN *this actually might happen in some surrounding states as well* is that u can get your drivers license at 14. U just apply for what is called a "farmers permit". i am not sure if thats the legal name or not but basically as long as u live on a certain size farm u can just go take your drivers test at 14 and if u pass your all good...there is no restrictions like having to have a adult with u or anything. As long as u pass the test your good. I lived on a large farm so i of course got one.

Also u can leave school an hour early or come an hour late if u live on a farm. They just call it "farm work release". I kinda liked school more than busting my ass doing manual labor so i never took advantage of that one.

It all obviously has to do with the fact that once u get our of Minneapolis/St Paul and their surrounding suburbs its almost all small towns and a fuckin ton of family farms. It is changing though sadly as most farms are now basically giant corporations and the family run farms just cant keep up. Yes, i actually loved the farm life believe it or not. So much open space, privacy, tons of places to explore, shoot stuff, drive dirt bike and just run wild plus forests and lakes every ware.

Back in "dim dar olden" times farmers needed their kids around for free manual labor. That is also why u see a lot of huge family's in rural MN. I have 3 older brothers and 1 older sister and we were considered a "small family" by most of the other farmers lol. My dad was pissed when all 5 of his kids decided to go to college instead of take over the farm though.

sorry i totally went on a non-thread related tangent their lol....blame it on the weed. I havent smoked for over a week yo and i am pretty toasty.
