California requires a separate room with no surveillance of any type for a pre-employment screen, the lab can however ask you to turn your pockets out before you enter the lab area for 'employee safety concerns'. Fair enough, you aint allowed to jiggle my ball sack, so two pair of skivvies with the bottle tucked in the little pocket part. Keeps it secure with the added bonus of having it rest in my crotch for a good 45 minutes to an hour. What better way to keep something at body temperature than by using the body.

Once you're an employee or if its mandated by the state that you have to pee in a cup, then all bets are off as it is perfectly legal to employ some poor fuck who has to stand there and make sure the urine is indeed squirting forth from yon nether regions. This is why I say never accept testing (that you have to pay for BTW) as a condition of probation or a plea agreement. You busted me for something I did, that doesn't give you the right to reserve the ability to bust me for something I may do later that you aint even there to see.

Fuck you Mr. Orwell and your thought police.

IMHO, synthetic is the ONLY way to go for a pre-employment screen and to be honest, having been on the other side of the hiring table myself I'd much rather have an employee who is smart enough to test clean no matter how they do it.
