At citizens bank
a debit card overdraft not caught in three days is $39.00 fee.another $39.00 if not caught in the following three days. ($78.00 after 6 days overdrafted.
However on A check bounce/bad check (or whatever you consider a paper overdraft)...The fee is automatic $75.00 plus the value of the check.

Provided the check is under a certain amount...I think $200.00.

Debit card doesn't care if you overdraft 3 or three hundred...so it sometimes serves it's purpose.
