We have our socialized schools, police, fire departments, libraries, postal services, etc. and we accept those as standard social policy. In fact people across the whole spectrum would probably cry foul if a president came along and said he was going to dismantle public schools and make them all corporate.
Yet, the instant someone suggests universal health care, the right wingers get their knickers into a twist and go "ZOMG!!! STALINISM!!!!!!! RED TERROR!!!"
