Imagine, for a second, if all our roads were toll roads (i.e. not paid for by taxes). Imagine if when we drove out of our residential street and onto the main street, we had to insert $0.50 into a box and wait for a barrier to rise. Then once we get on the interstate we have to insert a dollar. Imagine doing this every time we got on the road.
When you currently drive the roads, do you think, "UUUUGGGHHHH!!!!! The strain I'm feeling from the TAX DOLLARS I'm forced to pay to use these roads!"
No. You don't.
You likely roll your eyes and groan when you have to reach into your wallet and grab a dollar when a toll booth for a turnpike is coming up.
Imagine the same sense of freedom with health care as we have with driving on non-toll roads.
