Trolling is going to forums or chats and trying to start conflicts usually to seek out n00bs. It comes from the type of fishing where they drag a line through the water and try to hook fish.
A good example would be if someone made a post about Obama getting elected and someone replied with "I think we should lynch all white people now that we have a black president" to see who will react...Then it usually proceeds into flame wars.
