I felt the need to chime on this question. Here in Texas, we do have a specific dry time every year around mid September to Halloween. It gets hard to find regular bud and the good stuff is overpriced due to the demand. This has happened the last 5 years I've been in this area. It sucks. We've done some detective work and figured out people weren't growing due to the extreme drought Texas has experienced recently. This means we're getting our bud from Mexico and with a new border checkpoint it's gotten rough.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Mexican growers were finding other places to sell their bud rather than risking it going to the US and only a handful are selling to us.
But that's just a theory....
