There is an unfortunate tendency for wine maker to oak the fuck out of everything atm.
I prefer old world wines with the exception of Chilean, Argentinean and New Zealand.
The French still make the best wine if you can afford it, 75 Margaux ftw.
Spanish wine seems like the best value atm.
California and Australia keep all their best wines for themselves I think, everything you can get over here tastes like blackcurrant and petrol
