Truth be told, the presidency will really change when election reform takes place and lobbyist are no longer a major player in terms of the presidential race.
Otherwise, Obama marked a major shift in the US and time will reveal (I believe) how drastic that shift has been. Some will love it, some will hate it. No matter what, he's the beginning of something and the end of something else.
I personally feel the next president will be Obama (2nd term) but after that, a 3rd party of some kind will finally take office. Obama is paving the way for an independent party to finally rise to the surface. He's not quite Democratic nor Republican and that's how he really snagged the election. Not sure if he will do the same next time, it all depends on the next three years. It might even be in the next election, but I strongly feel Obama will serve two terms and will open the office to a party that is neither Democratic or Republican...for the first time in a very long time. But that's just me.
