Magic Jack is a VoIP service. That is voice over internet protocol. This means that you can plug the USB thumb drive into any computer on high speed internet which means ethernet connection. You then hook a telephone of any type into it and get a dial tone. You can carry the thumb drive anywhere in the world as long as there is an ethernet connection. This means you can make and receive calls from Japan, Korea, Australia, Germany, U.K. You get the idea. You can also hook it up at home and make unlimited calls to the U.S. and Canada. I know people who have these and are quite satisfied. No, I don't sell the service, even though I was with a VoIP pioneer 5 years ago. Through this, I now have a service where I can call 44 countries, including the U.S. and Canada. No, it does not provide the mobility of a cell phone as I can't be driving in my car and talking on the phone. I carry a pre-paid cell phone at $15.00 per month for that.
