My take is that I wash my hair once a week and condition it twice a week, once when I wash it, and once in between. So Spanky I'm not saying wash it everyday, that IS bad for sure, when you got curly hair which is so because it's dry.
I would do it every other shower if you are getting it wet for sure, depending on how often you shower as well....so many variables so little certification to give this advice
Basically if you find your hair too dry, condition more. If you are finding it flat and oily from the conditioning, you are making enough oils that are getting to the ends, so do it less.
I find there is a day when my head will itch, and it IS really dry up here, but when I go to bed and wake up the next day my head feels fine and has replenished itself with oil enough to be clean and comfortable for a few more days.

And if he was growing it out, I'd help him to make sure he had a clean healthy mane and didn't look like some flaky dirty hippie too.
I want the world to have more long hairs and want to make sure they look presentable to the world.
I don't want to tell Spanks to grow it out and then leaving him hangin looking like the longhairs that aren't able to get jobs outside of the scene.
And at the risk of putting my gender role on the line here, I just want to ensure Spanky stays beautiful and riddled with Sampson-ness.
