If I have to pick a 10 song set, I'd pick these (10 being the song they open with)

10. Stone Cone Crazy-Belongs to Queen, but man, that song rips, especially live.

9. Disposable Heroes-Sonic and rhythmic accents galore throughout this song. Hetfield captures and delivers the angst and apathy of the soldier that 'Eddie' represents in 'The Trooper' mural.

8. Master Of Puppets-how does this not make the list

7. The Shortest Straw-Hell, yeah.

6. Creeping Death-GREAT song to open their set with when they toured with GNR.

5. And Justice for all-Because I get really pissed off about the subject of the song, and it's just packed with guitar riffs. It's grabs you by the throat and yells, 'LISTEN!!!'

4. Battery-a song about an area bar and neigborhood that the band used to play at, and the crazy people that hung around there. Perfect.

3. Leper Messiah-This song sounds like it's gonna fall apart from the beginning and I love it. I think the main riff is like 5/4 time, but regardless, the lyrics speak to exactly what was going on when MOP was released. Televangelism. "Send me money, send me green, heaven you will meet. Make your contribution and you'll get a better seat".

2. Seek and Destroy-It opens in A and invites the drums and bass to join. What a killer hook, too. Next thing you know the guitars are chugging along in E, and you're clenching your jaw and bobbing your head.

1. Whiplash-fan favourite. They had to grow up, but I sure miss the atmosphere that a Metallica Show brought to town, and this song tells the story of what it used to mean. Mayhem.
