So basically what happened here is a white dude said nigger and instead of taking it in context and/or simply as him exercising poor judgment we're going to over analyze the fuck out of it and use it as a means of parlaying a poor choice of words (but still a rather valid point) into a discussion on the perils of being black in 2010 and the history of racism? I mean I'm not saying the article doesn't have it's points because it certainly does, but crapping ourselves and jumping into a frenzy every time the word is uttered is part of what gives it such power. I don't see anyone balking over his using the term faggot a few lines down either.

Not to mention the obvious irony in identifying him as someone who is "singing black" but being up in arms about him using the term "white girl crazy" or talking about race himself.

I guess in short what I'm trying to say is get over it.
