today in the first day of art appreciation we learned about the first time in the world that humans found 3D images drawn as 2D.

I guess it was in Spain when this 9 year old girl Maria found these cave drawings. Eventually they figured out that these drawings were drawn from ancient humans. They found these dots all over the drawings and they couldn't figure out what the dots are.

I guess when the brain is irritated like when these ancient humans would go into a spiritual trance they were able to see these animals and they figured out the dots are actually what you see when you are in that certain state of mind.

These psychiatrists figured out that irritating the occipital lobe will cause the brain to actually form its own images of light and patterns.

Humans haven't always been able to distinguish lines and colors as specific things. There was a time when you could have shown humans a really fancy panting and their brain literally wouldn't see it the same as modern humans. Even if the painting was of something they know, they still wouldn't be able to recognize it in a 2D form.

I wish I learned this much in school everyday...
