trading away halak was an extremely smart move by the habs imo. price is a solid goalie with a great future, and halak is more likely than not going to be a flash in the pan (see jose theodore and cristobal huet). just look at mason in columbus, dominates one seasons then shits the bed the next. so instead of taking a stupid gamble on halak the habs got a bunch of prospects and still have a solid situation in nets.

sens signed sergie gonchar and let volchenkov go (who signed for less than gonchar in NJ)... not sure how i feel about this but at least now we have a scary blueline on the PP with karlsson and gonchar back there on the point. hopefully gonch can feed some sick break-out passes out of the zone to spezz and alfy as well. i will miss volchenkov though the man had heart and character. he has led the league in blocked shots for basically his whole career. he laughs at the notion of pain.

i miss hockey!!!
