Therapeutic Uses of Cannabis
Drug Enforcement Administration. While they do seem to present a good argument, I looked into their "facts", to which they gave me no backing reference to, and found many of them to be baseless or without support. So I started to search deeper into where they came from and found the following information.
I found that there were only two major scientific research studies done that found cannabis to be harmful.
the Dr. Heath/Tulane University study in 1974
The Heath monkey study was actually a study in animal asphyxiation and carbon monoxide poisoning. As anyone should know three to five minutes of oxygen deprivation causes brain damage - therefore the dead brain cells…
Dr. Gabriel Nahas of Columbia University in 1972
December 1983, under ridicule from his peers and a funding cut-off from NIDA (National Institute on Drug Abuse), he renounced all his old THC metabolite build-up and unique chromosome petri dish tissue damage studies, conclusions, and extrapolations. This was seven years after the National Institute of Health (NIH) specifically forbade Dr. Nahas from getting another penny of U.S. government money for cannabis studies because of his embarrassing research in the early 1970's.

The history of cannabis as a medicine
The history of cannabis cultivation and medical use goes back over 10,000 years. This plant was cultivated in China by 4,000 B.C. and in Turkestan by 3,000 B.C. . It has long been used as a medicine in India, the Middle East, South East Asia, South Africa, South America, North America and Europe. It was recommended for Malaria, Constipation, rheumatic pains, absentmindedness, and female disorders.
Cannabis as a treatment for malaria
Cannabis has a long history of use against diseases that cause symptoms of fever, such as cholera, rabies and tetanus. There are documented instances of use by ancient cultures including those of China and India; anthropologists have also documented traditional use which persists to this day among some African and Southeast Asian populations.
The African people

Cannabis Is Medicine and Always Has Been: A Brief History
Arabic physicians used cannabis from the 8th to 18th centuries for all kinds of ailments and are thought to have brought that knowledge with them to Africa, where cannabis was recorded for treating snakebite, labor pains, malaria and dysentery.
History of the Medical Use of Marijuana
The India Hemp Commission (1894: 174) likewise was informed of similar medicinal uses for cannabis. Specific reports included the use of cannabis as an analgesic, a restorer of energy, a hemostat, an ecbolic, and an antidiaretic. Cannabis was also mentioned as an aid in treating hay fever, cholera, dysentery, gonorrhea, diabetes, impotence, urinary incontinence, swelling of the testicles, granulation of open sores, and chronic ulcers. Other beneficial effects attributed to cannabis were prevention of insomnia, relief of anxiety, protection against cholera, alleviation of hunger and as an aid to concentration of attention.
This section on the -antibiotic uses of cannabis concludes with a summary of several reports from various countries. In Pharmacopee Arabe: "The ground-up seeds are mixed with bread for people with tuberculosis" (Andrews and Vinkenoog, 1967: 145). In Czechoslovakia: "A preparation from seed pulp was . . . introduced by Sirek to act as a roborant diet in treatment of tuberculosis" (Kabelik, 1960: 8). "In Southern Rhodesia the plant is used as an African remedy for malaria, anthrax, sepsis, black water fever, dysentery, blood-poisoning, tropical quinine-malarial haemoglobinuria, and a wart medicine" (Watt, 1961: 13).
Cannabis is considered a real panacea for tetanus, colic, gastralgia, swelling of the liver, gonorrhoea, sterility, impotency, abortion, tuberculosis of the lungs and asthma ... even the root-bark has been collected in spring, and employed as a febrifuge, tonic, for treatment of dysentery and gastralgia, either pulverized or in form of decoctions. The root when ground and applied to burns is said to relieve pain. Oil from the seeds has been frequently used even in treatment of cancer . . . (Kabelik, 1960: 8).
A poultice made from fresh leaves is a common household remedy for painful affections of the eyes, conjunctivitis, swollen joints, orchitis, and other acute inflammatory conditions.
Tuberculosis, anthrax, tetanus, and menstrual cramps are among the miscellaneous medical uses of cannabis reported. Reports from Mexico indicate the use of marihuana smoking "to relax and to endure heat and fatigue" (Mikuriya, 1969: 37).

40 years of tax paid misery to millions of American citizens based on Gossip and Lies. Yet they still get tax grants to continue unsubstantiated hobgoblins. Pay to obstruct and scare people from remedies? Or blue jeans. Drug Worriers selling this drug war should be in prison for screaming fire in crowded theaters. Congressional Perjury and Perjury in Courts hiding behind children to justify such hatred. 40 years with the same reefer madness rehashed by younger fear mongers. Hilary said there is too much money made by prohibition to end it. Its' clear the politicians in DC work for Wall St who receives the contracts and sells the drug war paraphernalia or keeps a superior organic product out of competition. It is a measure of our very selves if we choose to continue this deadly nonsense or just say no more. The people have to weigh in and not depend on government to act honorably.
