I've been looking into it, but the Thanks button is actually a hack add-on to vbb. So, if there's any glitch in the code it's hard to correct.

To change anything other than editing/deleting posts and profile/personal crap, would require hacking the site to mod/admin level.
not just a user account breakin.. perhaps some previous past master is seeking revenge. I don't see how hacking a members account gives one super powers beyond that of mere mortal members using their edit/delete capabilities. Unless UBB and PHP have changed dramatically in the last few days. Inside job.
