great work jonas! do you work exclusively in acrylics? have you ever tried mixed media or different gel mediums?

acrylics are so versatile and u can do so many awesome things with them like transfers and play with all the different mediums like glass beads or different grounds and tars

i'm mostly acrylic. but pretty much all of my paintings have markers and or pens in them. The last one I posted started out as a weird collage, you can still see remnants of ripped paper images and such in the background, then layers of paint are added on top. most of the white lines are made with a 'graffiti' paint marker, as are the translucent green and blue lines. graffiti ink is the best, such vibrant colours .

the eye , and 'half' a nose, and the 3 bindies, were from a picture of my friend Natasha. it started at a simple sketch of that photo. then i collaged abunch of computer paper photographs all over the place, then added a bunch of lines and layers and colours and stuff.

and I'm working on a few ugly pieces at the moment, no pictures of them yet though.

no I haven't. I've been spending a (small) fortune on proper artist quality acrylics, expensive brushes and also as much spray paint and caps i can afford. I'd love to try it someday (when I can finally start selling my paintings for what i feel they are worth....)

about 3 months since my last update...
Here's my most recent work: spent the Canada Day long weekend up at my long time best friend's place and painted him this wood panel. He has lots of wall space in his big ol' house, out in the country. Was fun to visit his new family (he has cute little 2 yr old...)

Thanks Turm!

Here's another one of family. My lil' sister when she was about 3 or 4 years old, way back in '93/'94, chillin' on a gt snowracer with her best friend. It was a present I made for her this past Christmas.

This year's been slow. I've had one commission and sold 2 small paintings, barely made a few hundred bucks.

Might have a 2 pop up show at this cool gallery downtown, late July. Fingers crossed that it works out.

Cool. The town I live in constantly has non juried art shows.. All kinds of ways to be involved.. a very thriving art community. And cheap rental space in their galleries..

Someday I wish I would take advantage of it.

So cool you do.. Good job.
