Rev I can't tell if those threes in that camp pic are huge, or if its a perspective thing?

A lot of great pics, but that first one is just straight up epic. Love it.

What uploading service do you use?

I just upload straight to YaHooka from my phone.

In that camp, the trees were HUGE. It's a perfectly situated place for optimal growth, as there's a river nearby, yet great light. There were some pines over 10 feet in diameter. Dobb's Camp, in the San Gorgonio Wilderness, is probably one of the best camp sites for mature pines.

Well I certainly need to figure out how to do that!

That all sounds wonderful, I would love to see these trees that grow larger than any other in the world (making a foreigners generalization about California). But more importantly, shouldn't you be in bed by now old man?

Sequoia National Park. The Giant Sequoia's are awesome to behold. They have BRANCHES 8 feet in diameter, in some cases. They're so huge that when news of their "discovery" reached the East Coast, people thought it was a bullshit story.

Yea I've seen a cone from one. It was the size of a football haha

They have clones growing off of them, that have clones growing off of those.

Actually, Giant Sequoia cones are about the size of a hand grenade. The seeds are tiny, too. The most terrifying of all cones comes from the coulter pine. They are easily as big as a football, covered in claws, and weigh about 3-5 lbs. They are literally weaponized pine cones.

Ok... Pretty easy.

Go to advanced reply and look for 'manage attachments'.
I think you'll get it from there.

Hmm, I coulda sworn it was a sequoia cone. Now I'm not sure what it was. Didn't look like that clawed one, but was football sized still.

The Gospel accordng to Matthew chapter 17 verse 20 Jesus' parable of the Mustard Seed is what this makes me think of.

Found a hidden waterfall while exploring a forgotten canyon up the Whitewater River. Named it Anita Falls after my wife. She dug that.

A shot in the moonlight from my campsite near the river.
