Do you tell a prostitute you have herpes?

So I'm thinking most prostitutes already have it. If you bring it up you might just be killing the mood...
you know?

Genital or oral? I have oral and sometimes i plum forget about it until it shows up. But typically hookers will not kiss you and also they make you bag it before you tag it. So, it's safe-ish. they're professionals!

PS I don't use prostitutes.

can't you get the sores pretty much all over the genital region, not just the dick?

i.e., a condom isn't going to cut it?

That would be a dick move, seriously. Even if they already have it, spreading that around to someone who hasn't consented to it is major league fucked up. It could cause a flare up in one or both of you. It's not the worst thing in the world, no. But once you have it, you have it(if she didn't already)

That would be fucked up.

Find one that already has it, and still wants your money. You're probably right, and if she has it, she's still going to want your money. They're hookers, you having money is all the mood they need. If she's offended, and doesn't want to have sex with you, you did the right thing.

I dunno dude, there's no good way to go about it, but you'll be a better person for not spreading a fucking permanent std. And I think that you want to do the right thing if you made a thread like this.

I typically use like an escort service. Finding one in the wild is fun once in a while, but mostly a huge pain in the ass.

When you go through a service, they generally won't do anything if you have so much as shaving irritation. but that obviously varies.

Bring them a fresh test and you will get more fun.

I just realized that I used the phrase "huge pain in the ass" whilst referring to the sex trade.

Genital (yay!)

I've never used a prostitute either and if I have to go through the awkwardness of telling I might as well get rejected by someone who I'm not offering money to.

Getting diagnosed with herpes is usually a big kick to your confidence. Getting rejected by a professional on top of that might make a dude suicidal...

The standard std tests don't check for herpes. I've been tested numerous times and never has it included herpes. I've also done some research online and it seems like this is the norm, they usually only test for chlamydia and gonorrhea (the 2 most common). This seems kind of funny seeing as herpes seems to be the only std other than HIV that will cripple/end your sex life forever.

Also, I'm not talking about having sex during an outbreak. Or having unprotected sex..

I go in to get one every 6 months if I'm having sex with randoms.

They have always included HIV and herpes.

You need a big cup of man the fuck up. Who cares what a prostitutes opinion of you is? Worst case scenario is you get denied by someone you'll never meet again, the only other scenario is you get laid.

How do you think some woman's going to feel about the permanent physical reminder, of her days slanging tricks, that you've deliberately infected her with?

Its just a possibility. Transmission isn't a sure thing.

Canada. We do get a hell of a lot of immigrants from the traditional HIV regions. So that might be a reason.

It does seem unfair that just because someone is in the sex trade they don't deserve the same respect as a 'regular' person.

I was being anti-prostitute, I apologize.

It's cool that you're evaluating your behavior man. Most don't.

And really-A lot of people have herpes. I have oral herpes. I get around one cold sore a year. Bfd. And I haven't had one for a couple of years now. It's just something I live with. You'll get used to this. You can get used to anything.

I'm sure there are forums and dating services for this sort of thing. Don't give up! Keep that chin up!

Of all STD's I think herpes is actually the most desirable.

But Puba, man, you know the right thing to do is to tell any and everyone you're with about your situation. I know it's difficult to say to someone, but you have to do right by them. Don't you wish whoever gave you herpes would have given you a heads up? I tell every girl that I kiss or even share a drink with that I have herpes. And if you really want to be a man you would go to the doctor and get yourself a Valtrex prescription just to show that you really care about your partner(s).

Herpes simplex virus subtype 1 is on pretty much every member of this species 24 hours a day. It causes cold sores.

Herpes simplex virus subtype 2 is still very common, although less so than 1. It causes most cases of gential herpes. Chances are, we have all been exposed to it hundreds of times and many of us are even carriers. But it only actually infects like 20% of exposures.

I guarantee that all of us have several species of Herpesviridae in us, on us and around us right now. They aren't as pathogenic as people give them credit for.

straight up acyclovir is more effective than valaciclovir for the treatment of herpes.

HSV1 or HSV2?

And no, standard tests do not include herpes unless you ask specifically... probably because so many people have it.

People can carry it for their entire lifetime and not have an outbreak, its reacts differently depending on where you have it, what type it is, your immune system, etc.

I do ask for a full panel out of habit even though I just go to my GP.

That makes sense.

Let me put it this way

Don't worry about weather you should tell them...but i must ask...Do you ask?

Because if you aren't asking you may have worse problems than you do now...
