Consuming Cannabis
When cannabis is eaten, THC and the other cannabinoids compounds that create the high enter the blood stream via the digestive system. This is a slower and less predictable process than when cannabis is smoked. Whereas smoking produces an almost instant high, the effects of eating can take anywhere between 15 and 90 minutes to arrive. The time taken for the high to come on is affected by the way the food is prepared, the ingredients used and the amount of food passing through the digestive system at the time.
Soon after being swallowed, the cannibinated food reaches your stomach, it is churned around in a mixture of acid and enzymes. Now liquefied, the food is squirted into the intestines. Here, more enzymes and bile work on the fat in the food and the cannabinoids are absorbed, through the intestinal walls, into the blood stream. Once in the blood stream, the psychoative compounds are on a high speed tube ride to your brain. Usually, within 45 minutes of swallowing, some of the cannabinoids will have reached the neural receptors in the brain and the user will begin to notice the effects. As more and more of the chemicals make there way through the system, the user will become stoned.

One time I tried cannabis milk..., you take a can of condenced milk, a bush of weak weed, condence the milk with about half a litter watter and boil weed there, it's the way out when the weed is weak..., but one time I tried and hardly died, I drank 100 grams of that milk and I was pale as a-a....., milk...., with blue tint on my lips...., the problem with it iss that you can never know how strong is the milk and how much do you need..., since that time i realized that nothing is better than to take a joint or better a bong a have some hits of pure odor....

what about salads; I have had to eat leaves before but not because I wanted to and it has been many years since I did it. Can anything be done with them in their raw form? Thanks

Raw form.....sure, I'd throw it in a spaghetti sauce. Or on Garlic Bread.

Is there anyway to make the effects more predictable? Does it depend on the strength of the buds/shake in the first place or is the cooking process that makes the difference in the effect? Also, is there any greater medical benefit/danger to consumption vs smoking or to stop the effects if they are too intense? I am thinking in particular of diabetics and others with metabolic and/or digestive problems?

I've been making cannibutter and baking with that. I've found that almond extract works well at masking the "green" tast in baked goods. I am now looking into cooking with hash. Is there a difference in preparing the butter or oil, other than the amount of hash as opposed to leaf?

When smoking, it depends on how LONG you keep it in. Personal experience only. Consumption is gradual and it also depends on how MUCH you consume at once.
It depends SOLELY on how your OWN body can deal with the THC levels. Everyone is different.
