Marijuana chocolate?

Does anyone know if pot chocolate works? I have found a couple recipes that involve melting chocolate and adding finely ground bud to the mix, but I thought the THC needed to be extracted by fat+heat.

375 degrees is top cooking heat..and what is pot chocolate, is it sold or does one make it?

It's chocolate, that you melt down and add chocolate to. I am going on a 8 hour road trip (one way) with my girlfriend and her mother, and I fucking loose my mind on that trip. I want to make chocolate because it will keep better than cookies or brownies, and seems a little more discreet. Plus, I'll be able to stash it better than a bag of brownies.

I Google cannabis chocolate, and found a bunch of recipes. This one is probably the most comprehensive. With pictures!

Ok, well that recipe calls for bud butter.

Here's one of the recipes that doesn't:

Cannabis chocolate – thc4ms

This is a recipe for home made cannabis chocolate

You will need

150 gram bar of chocolate
3.5 grams of good bud
Glass bowl
Pan of water
Grinder

Place the pan of water on a hob with the glass bowl inside the pan, place the chocolate (break it into pieces it will melt easier) into the bowl, by using the bowl inside of the pan of water you have created a double boiler. This will ensure that the chocolate is not heated too much. Gently melt the chocolate, do not heat too much or too quickly.

Do not use a microwave to melt the chocolate as this will cause burning.

Finely chop the herb in a coffee grinder, the finer ground the better, ideally the ground cannabis should resemble dust.

When the heated chocolate resembles a thick liquid with no lumps slowly add the ground bud.

Stir well to ensure equal distribution of weed throughout the chocolate.

Carefully remove the bowl from the pan (take care it will be hot) and pour into an ice cube making tray, when the chocolate is set push out the cubes and keep in tin foil or a plastic container in the fridge.

would adding cannibutter to the chocolate wreck it? i know you can make some killer chocolate mousse no problem, but i don't know about straigh chocolate.. maybe when you're tempering it, take it off the heat and add the bud in.

worrd.. i usually don't really mess around with desserts.. all the science and shiz behind it.. i can handle the Maillard reaction and cook short order and stuffs on a line, but not pastries/desersts, ahah

I am pretty sure you will end up with ice cream syrup not chocolate. Probably good anyway. Failed fudge (not the easy marshmallow recipe--the Hershey's crackhead scientist recipe) makes some of the best syrup.

Can one simply eat hash? I've read Rosenthal say heat is needed to make THC psychoactive but I'm not clear on that. I get that a solvent (butter, alcohol) is needed to strip it from the plant but I can't imagine our bodies can't break it down. So does it need heat or could I just pop some instead of looking for chocolate pudding that can take at least a half cup of butter (I'd eat the butter but my stomach gets angry).

I was wondering about that, so it wouldn't make it unstable like Mr. O was saying? Well yeah I guess it would since butter hardens pretty well, and if it's hot enough to make butter soft it's hot enough to make chocolate soft.

Anyways I think I'm going to make some canabutter, and then make chocolate with the raw ingredients. I think it would be pretty cool making chocolate/chocolate bars in general, not to mention adding the lovely-ness of THC.

But yeah so the ride really wasn't that bad. I didn't have a chance to make anything.

I ate one of my chocolates before I got on the plane last Tuesday, the flight went well for the first hour I really enjoyed it.

My connection in the Atlanta Airport was a nightmare from hell. Stoned out of my mind in a place I've never been before.

The airport made me think of the game halflife. Its huge, has these gigantic escalators everywhere, that internal subway system.

It was dark, however I wouldn't take off my sunglasses.

I did find my flight, barely in time it was I the last to board.

The guy beside me just wouldn't shut up, I just wanted to sit and zone out, and I was horribly paranoid that he somehow knew.

By the time I got to Madison I was good and down, I've never been so happy to be in Wisconsin before.
