Mydriasis's Medical Preperations

As we all know, there are many plants with medicinal properties. This web-site favors a certain one. So I figured I'd share some of the recipes I have concocted/came across through-out the past few years.

This thread isn't about making some bomb lasagna, it's more about recipes to get end-products similar to that of dispensaries. I will not cover butter or oil, these should be common knowledge for the people aiming to use these recipes. If not search yahooka, or google, or youtube it and I guarantee you will find it.

So now we all know cooking can be potentially dangerous so please use these recipes at your own disgression. There will be more added to this thread so don't worry if it's incomplete at an point in time I just can't dedicate hours on hours to this at the moment. Also please don't pollute this thread with comment's just yet I'll give the go ahead in a future post. However, thanks are always welcomed.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! Store all of the finished products in a safe-place away from children who may mistakenly find them or even eat them. Cannabis is only for responsible, adults. If you aren't responsible or an adult please stay away from all of these recipes.

Let's get started!

Recipe List:
- Fast Green Dragon(Page 1)
- Slow Safe Dragon(Page 1)
- Cannabis Hard Candy(Page 1)
- Cannabis (GD)Jello Shots(Page 1)
- Slow Glycerine(Page 1)
Note: Some of these recipes may be subject to change if I find better ways to do things or explain them. This thread will be updated every time I get some spare time between my projects to copy recipes from my recipe journal(hand-written).

The many flavors of cannabis:
Some of us connessuers have been graced with many great tastes of inhaled cannabis such as: Piney, Citrusy, Minty, Meaty, bubblegum, etc. Some of the tastes some of us have encountered are well... yicky such as: Ammonia-ish, burnt chlorophyl, and other yuckyness. Good thing about cooking/extractions is it tends to neutralize a lot of the poor flavors, bad thing is it doesn't always give the kush we put in justice. This is why I prefer to cook/work with mid-grade(anything green but not dank), plant trim(or even a big pile of extra stems etc).

Some people tend to find the taste of cooked cannabis unpalatable. I think it's delicious and diverse. So here are some of my favorite flavors to add with our cooked products.
- Lemon, Lime, Orange, Melon, Water-melon, Peach: Fruits + Cannabis = divine.
- Hints of Mint(spearmint, peppermint): Helps add clarity, and a refreshing aspect to a recipe.

There are several ways to make a tincture. Tincture : An ethanol(drinking booze) solution containing medicinal plant alkaloids. Cannabis tinctures are often called "Green Dragon".

Green Dragon can be used to make many things. Hard candies, jello-shots, etc. So let's get started on some Green-Dragon.

____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
Instant Dragon! This method is fast but does involves some risk including burning down your cooking location
this is to be done at your own risk.
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
Ingrediants:
1. 1 Liter Everclear or 151 proof vodka preferably
2. 2 - 4 ounces plant trim OR 1 - 2 ounces of favored plant material
- Note: You can make smaller batches.
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
Materials:
1. Mason Jars
2. Oven pan
3. Boiling Pot
4. Strainer/Cheese-clothe
5. Funnel
6. Cooking Thermometer
7. Fire extinguisher(Just in case)
8. Oven mitts or a safe way to grab a hot pan
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
Directions:
1. Finely grind plant material(coffee grinder if you have it) and spread evenly onto baking pan. This loosens the
plant materials cell-walls allowing for a fast full extraction.

2. Fill boiling pot with water so it doesn't reach half of your jars height. You'll need this ready for a later step.

3. Set boiling pot to boil(approx 180-200 degrees). The heating level is different for different stoves, so know yours.

4. Heat pan at 150*f for 15 minutes in oven. This also helps to remove excess water which degrades the Grain Alcohols
ability to absorb the goodies from your plant material. This also decarboxlyzes the THCA to THC.
NOTE: If your using a smaller recipe you won't need to cook it as long. What you should do is check on it frequently,
as soon as it's nice and dry(not burnt) remove it from the oven. You don't want to burn your plant material!

5. Remove pan from oven(use oven mitts don't burn your hands and then hunt me down).

6. Put heated plant material evenly into your jars(so that the plant takes up half the jar-space)

7. Fill mason jar's to the 3/4 mark with grain alcohol(DO NOT PUT LIDS ON THESE JARS).

8. Gently place mason jars into the boiling pot(aka water-bath) and allow to be heated for 30-35 minutes.
!!!Watch with care Grain alcohol is highly flamable!!!

9. Allow water and jars to cool!

10. Put cheese-clothe or strainer inside of the funnel

11. Pour jars through strainer/funnel back into the grain alcohol bottle or similar glass vessel. Be sure to squeeze the last drop
out of your plant material .

12. Place your now strained green-dragon into an air-tight bottle or jar away from light exposure and high heat.
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
Warnings:
!In step number 4, don't cook the plant material for too long or to hot as it will burn your plant material. But if your stove is set to 150 degrees of a low enough setting you shouldn't be able to burn your plant product. This is just a precaution if your oven's lowest setting is rather high.
!In step 8 don't leave your boiling pot unattended and don't hang around all the fumes or heat to closely(DUH).
!KEEP ALCOHOL OVER 80 PROOF(40%) AWAY FROM OPEN FLAME.

Some of us older, or more sick people may find the previous recipe a little scary seeing as how your heating up a highly flammable substance in your kitchen. Good news/bad news.

Good news: This can be done safer!
Bad news: it's a lot slower.

Here's the safer recipe!
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
Slow Safe Dragon: This is a slower safer method for the same out-product, if you mess this up... I'm sorry.
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
Ingrediants:
1. 1 Liter Everclear OR 151 proof vodka preferably.
2. 2 - 4 ounces plant shake OR 1 - 2 ounces of favored plant material.
- Note: You can make smaller batches.
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
Materials:
1. Mason Jars
2. Oven pan
3. a big metal or glass bowl(Big enough to hold your alcohol) OR use glass mason jars
4. Strainer/Cheese-clothe
5. Funnel
6. Oven mitts or a safe way to grab a hot pan
Optional: Big wide mouth mason jars.
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
Directions:
1. Finely grind plant material(coffee grinder if you have it) and spread evenly onto baking pan. This loosens the
plant materials cell-walls allowing for a fast full extraction.

as soon as it's nice and dry(not burnt) remove it from the oven. You don't want to burn your plant material!

3. Remove pan from oven(use oven mitts don't burn your hands and then hunt me down).

4. Pour your alcohol into your big metal/glass bowl. The reason why we don't want to use cheap plastic is because
the alcohol can/will eat up most kinds of plastics. You don't want to ingest polymers, trust me.

5. Use a dry funnel to pour your finely chopped plant material into your big wide mouthed mason jar, or bottle of grain alcohol.

6. Look to see where your pile of plant material falls in your jar or bottle. Visualize where the plant material would be in the
jar/bottle if you had twice as much plant material. Use the same funnel and fill the jar/bottle back up with your alcohol to the
level of that which you've visualized.

7. Allow this bottle to sit at room temperature with no light exposure for three to four weeks. Shaking every day three times for
about 5 minutes each(the more the merrier).

8. After your 3-4 weeks of waiting with anticipation. You can FINALLY strain your jar/bottle into your big metal/glass bowl. Be
sure to juice every last drop you can!

9. Place your now strained green-dragon into an air-tight bottle or jar away from light exposure and high heat.

Now for something a little sweeter . This stuff can knock your socks off and if anyone sees you medicating they'll assume your snacking.

Hard-Candies are endlessly tastey, they store well, and we've all heard "A teaspoon of sugar helps the medicine go down".

My favorite candy mold for this is the ones that resemble a brick wall sort of. It's just a nice grid of rectangles.
Also remember this recipe will fill more than one mold so be sure to have a couple!!!

IF YOUR CANDY is too drippy add more sugar to the mix it'll be fine.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! Store these in a safe-place away from children who may mistakenly find them or even eat them. Cannabis is only for responsible, adults. If you aren't responsible or an adult please stay away from all of these recipes.
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
Hard-Candy: If you've never made hard-candy before look up a simple hard-candy recipe first and get the hang of it.
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
Ingrediants:
1. 2 Cups sugar
2. Candy flavoring(Remember my suggested flavors in the first post but be creative with it )
3. 1 Cup Light Corn Syrup(Karo brand is what I use)
5. 2 Cups Water
6. 1/2 - 2/3 Cup green dragon(depending on potency, remember the more GD you use you may need to add more sugar to your recipe)
Optional : Food Coloring of any color of choice.
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
Materials:
1. Boiling pan
2. Candy Thermometer($4)
3. Measuring cups
4. Candy Molds($1-$3 each), probably need 3 just to be safe!
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
Directions:
1. Turn on stove to about medium/high heat

2. Add 2 cups of sugar to the boiling pot, add 1 cup corn syrup, add 1 cup of water.

3. Stir until the sugar dissolves entirely into the mixture(this should take about 2-3 minutes)

4. After it's all dissolved stop stirring, and allow to heat to 300*f(aka Crack Temperature).

5. While waiting for it to get to crack temperature(300*f), mix the green dragon with food coloring
and flavoring(Do this away from open flame).

6. Once it reaches crack temperature, remove pot from stove-top. SLOWLY pour in the green dragon solution.
Be VERY CAREFUL because when you add the green-dragon mix the sugar solution will bubble and you don't
want 300 degree molten sugar to fly on you or anything else.

7. Stir quickly while the candy is still molten, so that the green dragon is evenly spread

8. Pour into molds and allow to cool for an hour or two. If you wish feel free to throw them into your refrigerator for an hour or two for good measure.
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________

When cooking hard-candy you may realize oh snap there's hard-candy on the bottom of my pan, fork, and or candy thermometer. Good thing hard-candy is essentially crystalized sugar. Sugar is water soluble. So soaking things in warm water for a long enough duration will cause the sugar to dissolve into the water allowing for an easy clean.

What's next? Stay tuned for a jello-shot recipe and an alcohol free tincture. That's right. A way to have a tincture with NO ALCOHOL. . Still plenty more so stick around. Also thanks for the comments everyone.

You do know that heating up alcohol in boiling water will not cause your house to burn down right? Under nearly any circumstances...

But spilling a jar of everclear on the way to the boiling water will. I'm really just trying to cover my ass here. I don't want any sick people getting hurt or doomed. I hope you understand.

Well here's a fun one. I personally don't like the alcohol aspect of the green-dragon. This helps for some of the alcohol to evaporate but still remains just as potent. Don't over indulge, these things can be some trouble!

If you aren't using cups to serve the jello in this recipe makes for about 15 doses(depending on the strength of your green-dragon). So cut jello accordingly.

____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
GD Jello-Shots
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
Ingrediants:
1. 3 Jello Packages(flavor of your choice )
2. 2 cups of water
3. 1/2 cup(4 fluid ounces) of green dragon
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
Materials:
1. Boiling Pot
2. little plastic jello cups or a baking pan(for brownies and the like)
3. Metal or Glass bowl(Plastic should be fine but make sure it's hard plastic)
4. mixing spoon
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
Directions:
1. Pour jello packets in big metal/glass bowl

2. Boil your 2 cups of water in your boiling pot

3. Once your water reaches a steady boil gently pour your water into your bowl with the jello.

4. Add Green dragon to the metal/glass bowl

5. Do a quick stir(metal whisk is ideal for this) just to mix everything around(Until jello is completely dissolved in the water).

6. Working fairly quickly pour the mixture into jello shot cups, or into your baking pan.

7. Put the jello cups or your baking pan into the refrigerator for 3-4 hours. Make sure the jello is firm.

Well for some of us non-booze drinking recovering alcoholics. Worry not mother nature still wants you to have tinctures and tastey things.

This is kind of a personal favorite of mine because I cannot acquire ever-clear in my state and I just hate to think using 151 proof ethanol is less adequate than it could be.

This stuff is great, you can add this to many recipes(I'll let you in on some in the near future) OR your can just take a teaspoon into your morning tea.
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
Slow Glycerine - this is good for diabetics because it doesn't mess with the bodies sugar/insulin much.
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
Ingrediants:
1. 1/2 pint(approx 200ml)FOOD GRADE GLYCERINE - this can be found at stores such as hobby lobby's, etc. DO NOT get the medical kind.
The Medical kind has volatile oils which are poisionous for ingestion.if your in a pharmacy your in the wrong place.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!
2. 7 grams of favored dry plant material or 14 grams of dry trim
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
Materials:
1. Pint Size Mason Jar
2. A Cheese-Cloth
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________
Directions:
1. Measure about half of a pint of your FOOD GRADE GLYCERINE and pour it into your mason jar.
2. Finely grind your dry plant material
3. Heat pan at 150*f for 10 minutes in oven. This also helps to remove excess water which degrades the Grain Alcohols
ability to absorb the goodies from your plant material. This also decarboxlyzes the THCA to THC.
4. Pour the now decarboxlyzed plant material into the jar with the Glycerine.
5. Shake every day whenever you think about it for 3-4 weeks. Test it at the 3 week mark if a teaspoon gets
you lifted(be sure to wait 2 hours to know for sure after ingestion) you can just end it there.
6. Strain the plant material out of the glycerine
7. Store the glycerine perhaps in a dark container in the refridgerator. Glycerine tinctures have less of a shelf-life
than do alcohol(Such as green-dragon).
____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ____________________

Wondering if there's a faster way? Oh there is, I'll get to that next recipe but you're going to have to be patient friends .
