^ aye rue, the netherlands approach is to make drug addiction a medical problem. explained in the movie is how the netherlands politicians veiw the junkies, they allow them in open view so that young people can see what being a drug addict is like and never want to become like that. when drugs are used casually they dont marginalize the drug users and turn them into criminals and they dont make them cool. in netherlands they use the word junky to describe anyone who does something too much, if you smoke too much pot you are considered a junky, if you drink too much you are a junky. its the mentality that doing anything too much is frowned upon. basically drugs arent cool.

in the U.S, the largest funder of anti-drug campaign is the ciggerate and alcohol industry. its because they want the american public to make the dinstinction between legal and illegal drugs and get fucked up on their products rather than illegal ones. this is fucked up considering alcohol and tobacco has killed infinetly more people than all other drugs combined x 100

i dont know about you guys, but in my highschool doing drugs made you badass as fuck. all the drug dealers and users were like the cool rebels that everyone wanted to be like. smoking pot put you in the clique of other drug users and made you fit in. i know in retrospect it was stupid but i am telling you the honest truth. to the american teenager drugs and alcohol are the COOLEST.
