So here's the situation... I have a standard five panel drug test tomorrow for a job, and I have a question about the opiates panel. From my understanding the standard five panel test for opiates tests for the levels of morphine, which detects the use of morphine/codeine/heroin. And it DOES NOT detect the use of oxycodone (percocet, oxycontin) and hydrocodone (vicodin) because these do not break down into morphine. That being said, I am a chronic user of oxycodone/hydrocodone, and I thought I was completely safe. I just took an at home drug test, and I passed all panels with flying colors except for the opiates panel. This panel I was borderline.... My question now is if there is anyway oxycodone/hydrocodone can trigger a positive for the opiates panel?????
