there's no food chain you slimy dolt. the only thing keeping you from being eaten by a bear or whatever is the fact that as a collective unit we have risen above our animal competition. the competition within this unit which you seem to view as progress is collective suicide, can't you tell yet? so don't tell people to climb something whose very existence threatens our well-being. cuz if it's really gonna be kept up it'll be the ones on top holding everyone down that fall the hardest.
god i'm glad retarded notions like yours are finally being recognized for the despicable shitfest they are. gtfo.

That being said, drug testing in general is a horrible idea. Of course they won't test for cigs or alcohol. They should make a test to see how many lottery tickets you've bought in the past year, I know the welfare moms around here love their smokes and lottery tickets. At a certain point are you just policing peoples personal lives.... |

This topic has the word Mom in it alot, no? What about Single men and families on welfare, or dead beat Dad's being the reason some of these people have to be on it?
My wife's Mom had to be on it back in the early 80s when my Wife's Dad refused to pay, and Mom couldn't afford daycare so she could go work and get outa the system? My wife's mom worked really hard to get out of it, and I don't think it fair to not mention that sometimes people are just down on their luck/situation. Previously she was in a marriage with planned pregenecies, then her husband became a coke addict and bailed, never paid or helped with anything. Why is it fair that she should be generalized? This is my only point. It's really easy to be angry when we generalize. Society doesn't function in a manner where people always have a fair chance to get good footing, early in life. I'm not saying welfare is the answer for every problem, but I do think it's a word with alot of weight on it. Socialized healthcare, here in Canada, is a Nation Wide Welfare programme, for all people. Does that make Canada a bunch of dead beats and low lifes because they are on welfare, oh no! What is the world going too do? All these people buying lottery tickets up here to? When will this plague leave us?!?!? Sicial Security in the states, Social Welfare too? Bums the lot of em! Have some compassion, you never know what your life still holds in store, right? Or are we just the types who think it's okay when WE need it?

Im surprised they don't drug test already, especially given the recession when there's WORKERS being laid off, who need to support themselves and their families, until they can secure another job. The majority of people claiming standard benefits are just lazy.

I was just saying that because my wife's dad was on coke, which lead her mom to need assistance, that we can't always be sure we know exactly what is going on. I just didn't care for the 'welfare mom' lingo, without really considering that Dad's are involved in the parenting process even if just for a few minutes.

Wow, look at all the crazy people who replied to that article in "Buz it up" (at the end). 99% of them are for this and also claim that "just about every job drug tests". Do these people live in the US because I would say most jobs DON'T require drug testing. Seems like this is a way to stop the current stampede to decrim mj in those hick states as it is mj users who would be mostly caught as it stays in your system the longest.
So if I'm on public assistance because I lost my job and my neighbor smokes a joint with me on a Friday night I should then have my assistance yanked? Yet the coke and meth users where such drugs take 24 - 48 hours to get out of your body still continue to get their assistance? A lot of the problem is alcoholism. What about that? This should be challenged in the courts. It seems to be another attempt to keep poor people poor and further divide the classes. Why is it the poor are always targeted for being lazy dopers when the economy goes to hell. We should be helping people get jobs. Plus, this is going to cost $ $ $! Is it really worth it

Ganjawar on the Poor
We have to protect our war jobs... Those who leave Iraq are going to Mexico in Hildary's new Green War. Less gas and plenty of solar power for war toy gadgets. Biodegradible bullets and smokeless bunker buster bombs. Sending out of work kids to die protecting Bliedumbs brat from snorting coke. Wild peyote and reefer should prove interesting. Soldier kids flying a drone over the desert sending Scam DEAgo HQ nice pictures of rock and sandstone. Don Juan Matus might turn em into lizards.
We didn't start the drug war fire, Nexxon and Bliedum did. He is the frothing mad drug thug of the left. Ranting about RAVE's, lying about X. His amber alert tack on, after three failed attempts. Draconian punishment, illegal glow sticks and censoring Ganjawar reform gatherings. False science once again adds laws to harm kids. Stopping Dance Safe from testing for bogus garbage. Ripping up terminal patients plants, and Indians hemp. Lies and gossip told to Congress, and no one swore an oath of truth let alone whole truth and nothing but the truth. Now his mini minions sitting in tanks thinking about things they know nothing about, yet have an opinion. Pragmatic 3 speed star transmissions telling us what will happen 20 years from now. 40 years later I'm wondering when will they stop repeating old gossip? So all of his wisdumb should have paid off on his own kid. Like it did Sarah Palen. His own flesh and blood should have learned something. Unless it was all just hogwash to make money. Should of set an example for the lower class users, like kliemon. Now greedy popranazies snap her pic, and its somehow different? I agree it isn't ethical. It is parse and parcel of prohibition, and the rights of peeping tom publications and GOPerverts. Perpetuated by Joe Blow Bliedum. Best lil republican next to Iraqi war criminal Lieberman, the other Joe Blow. Busting Charlie and Killing Rainbow Farmers, all the SWAT murders and Political theater busting bong makers. Sick people extradited to cages from hospital beds. 20 million satisfied customers made into criminals by Joe Blow Blieden. Either he publicly admits his drug war is busted. Or stay the hypocrite like Jeb Boosh and Limpbog. Like Al Gore and Klintoon, W is just too stupid to include. Ashcroft and Shelby and Kill em all Cunningham, Knewty and Gramm cracker from Texas. Slot Machine virtue dude Bennett, Philanthropy Roundtable money laundramat prez Walters, Souder funding Thai genocide, Daddy Boosh killing 111 Panamanians snatching CIA DEA snitch Noreaga... Iran Contra was Boosheney's base. Run of the mill typical HYPOCRITES! Hundreds of others skipping the punishments, except wingnut Sheen, siding with private prisons over his own kid. Both sides want pawns and what Joe Blow sewed he should reap. If we too were mentored by Nazi's. Or Calvina. Setting her up to bust is un-American, only done by trailer trash quick buck scammers and the DEA. Breeding snitches to set up vulnerable patients, 80% of the busts are by informants marky. Not easy to come by if they're getting real treatment. Not by force or coercion to exempt their jail time and bill of rights. Bottom dwellers existing solely on the extravagance and decadence of the thieves on Wallmart St and inside the beltway of DC. Brokering Police Actions. While gutting safety nets with bogus pisstastes on the poor. They just shake and bake and we hailpt! White Powders suck. - Cocaine instruction manual.

If Lies are Laws then War is Peace "For over fifty years the United States has been committed to a policy of suppressing the "abuse" of narcotic and other "dangerous" drugs. The primary instrument in carrying out this policy has been the criminal sanction. The results of this reliance on the criminal sanction have included the following:" (1) Several hundred thousand people, the overwhelming majority of whom have been primarily users rather than traffickers, have been subjected to severe criminal punishment. (2) An immensely profitable illegal traffic in narcotic and other forbidden drugs has developed. (3) This illegal traffic has contributed significantly to the growth and prosperity of organized criminal groups. (4) A substantial number of all acquisitive crimes - burglary, robbery, auto theft, other forms of larceny - have been committed by drug users in order to get the wherewithal to pay the artificially high prices charged for drugs on the illegal market. (5) Billions of dollars and a significant proportion of total law enforcement resources have been expended in all stages of the criminal process. (6) A disturbingly large number of undesirable police practices - unconstitutional searches and seizures, entrapment, electronic surveillance have become habitual because of the great difficulty that attends the detection of narcotics offenses. (7) The burden of enforcement has fallen primarily on the urban poor, especially Negroes and Mexican-Americans. (8) Research on the causes, effects, and cures of drug use has been stultified. (9) The medical profession has been intimidated into neglecting its accustomed role of relieving this form of human misery. (10) A large and well-entrenched enforcement bureaucracy has developed a vested interest in the status quo, and has effectively thwarted all but the most marginal reforms. (11) Legislative invocations of the criminal sanction have automatically and unthinkingly been extended from narcotics to marijuana to the flood of new mind-altering drugs that have appeared in recent years, thereby compounding the preexisting problem. A clearer case of misapplication of the criminal sanction would be difficult to imagine. --"The Limits of the Criminal Sanction," by Herbert Packer, 1968

Bottom line...
Drug testing for public assistance will fall under denying the claim, just as immediate drug testing goes for anyone that files a claim for worker's compensation. "Dirty" drug test means no compensation. Whether it be the poppy seed muffin you ate that day or the Advil you took. Or even prescribed drugs that may have impaired your judgement that caused you to be injured on the job.
When mass job losses are in the current scenario, the government is losing tons of money in income tax. Therefore, any excuse to deny benefits comes into play so they will have more money to give to the rich. As usual, they use the prohibition as a vehicle. All the brainwashed people out there who think drug testing really works need to wake up. It only works to keep them impoverished. If the government was really interested in stopping the flow of illegal drugs, they would stop the C.I.A. from importing them on a daily basis. Of course, anyone who chooses to try to sidestep paying their dues to the C.I.A. is conveniently arrested by the D.E.A. Your tax dollars at work-against you.:finger: By the way, wonderful post as usual DdC.

I don't know where you are, but in AZ, usa a licensed anyone is not required to pass any drug screen if self-employed. Its only when you apply to work for a corporation/other employer that this happens. So, go for it!

Chances are he wants to make good money quickly after graduating which would mean working corporate. Most white collar jobs in NE I doubt drug test. Shit, they don't drug test police or firemen in Mass., why would a lawyer, CPA, secretary, social worker, etc., need to be drug tested? The only occupations COMMONLY tested are ones that involve public safety directly (bus driver, airplane pilot, subway driver, truck driver, you get the point). I wouldn't work for some Hitler Company that just wanted to drug test me just to test me. FUCK THAT, never will happen. My personal life is my business unless it effects my job. If I'm doing a shitty job, am incompetent, then fire me.
I guess some people get it in the ass and have fewer options and need to bend over *read - chest tests* and stop using to feed their fams. But thats' a violation if you ask me. The Red Cross happily take my blood every two months. I hope knowbody gets a pint and gets in trouble.
