I have been in the medical field for over 10 years and in that time I spent a lot of it collecting urine for DOT & Pre-Employment Drug testing. I myself have been drug tested & have tried several methods to pass.
#1 - masking/diluting agents occasionally work, however, it depends on your usage and your weight. Those things usually work best if you haven't smoked in about 10 days or so. The only time that these drinks have worked for me was when I didn't smoke for at least 14 days. The last time I tried using a drink, I stopped smoking for 3 days, took my test & failed. #2 - using someone elses' urine doesn't work because you have to have the urine a certain temp range. So if you are going to a collection site it will be too cooled down to be accepted, then you would have to either fail the test or wait at the site until you have a full bladder to give another sample. Then you S.O.L. #3 - using powdered urine is probably the BEST way to go about it. The urine is real urine that is used for calibrating lab equipment, I've used it myself in my offices to calibrate our urine dipsticks. The only concern people seem to have is getting the right temp. Believe me when I tell you, you don't have to get it exact. 9 times out of 10 the tech is going to look at the temp strip just to make sure that it is changing color, we aren't looking to see the exact temp reading. On your chain-of-custody form there are only 2 boxes for the temp, yes or no, its either within range or its not. Just make sure that the temp is WITHIN 98 & 100 degrees. That is the first thing we look at (other than the quantity which has to be no less that 45mL, if it is a DOT test than the minimum is 50mL) to make sure that the temp strip IS reading something. Some employers pay for "Quickscreens" which is done at the patient service center and only sent to the lab to verify positive results. Other than that its immediately poured off to send to the lab. Now as for bubbles in the urine, ya really don't want that. They teach us that foamy urine is a red flag for something wrong with the urine, as well as it being a bright neon green/yellow. It sucks not working and it sucks even more not getting a job because we enjoy smoking pot. For chrissake, alcoholics can get a job easier than we can! I hope this helps some peps out! Keep on smokin! |

Lemme ask you something, if the test is 'borderline' and you and I hit it off pretty good and you think I seem to be a really nice guy, will that have any bearing on how my test results are going to turn out? The last test I had to take, the tech looked at my cup of fakie premix, dipped a swab into the urine and chatted me up for about a minute. She pulled the stick out of the cup and said 'looks good!', tossed the sample in the sink and the cup in the trash and sent me to have my nuts cradled when I cough. I'm wondering just how much power YOU have over the whole thing.

Sounds like you had a "Quickscreen", its exactly like a pregnancy test. The tech really has no power over the testing procedure. I may be a heavy smoker and enjoy pharm but I still remain morally ethical in my job. In my years of working the medical field I have never known anyone to pass someone cause they liked them or thought they were cute.
If the test is positive it has to go to the lab to be confirmed. The thing with the Quickscreens is there is a line that is the control line (saying its working) then if you get another line, your negative, even if its the faintest line its still negative. Thats really the only time a tech has any ability to "help" you out. If they collect and it goes straight to the lab, the tech is just confirming the collection was according to federal regulations. |
