Agh, I feel stupid for posting this, but I'm totally freaked out. I've had almost 2 years clean and sober (from the age of 16-22 I was addicted to benzos, opiates, and alcohol). I checked myself into treatment, twice....the second rehab I went to was a 7 month program and I thank god everyday that I made it thru. But when life gets crazy, sometimes we fall, as I did today. My sister lost custody of my nephew, who is like a son to me, and I lost it, broke down and took 3 10 mg valium. Problem is, is that I'm on probation for DUIs from 2007 and I see my p.o. on 5/4/10. I don't get drug tested everytime I go, but you know, you NEVER know. Any tips, ideas, help to flush my system. I'm aware that valium has a LOOOOOOOOOONG tendency to stay in the body/body fat. And trust me, after i took them, it didn't make me feel any better. Now I'm just beyond depressed and freaked out. And...are benzos considered a narcotic? Thanks for listening to me ramble.

If you get tested is there any way to delay it? Worst case, maybe your PO would be understanding due to the circumstances? Also, you were supposed to meet your PO on April 5th? Was that a typo or are you two days late already? Finally, sorry about your nephew. But don't give up on the sobriety, I hope you can make this a 'bump in the road' not a 'fall off a cliff' kind of thing.

I'm very thankful for your replies....Actually, I saw my PO on 4/6/10 and found out about the situation with my nephew 3 hours after I left the office....I don't go back until 5/4/10, which is 28 days away. On my papers it says no NARCOTIC prescriptions (and to top it off, I called my dentist today and I have to go to an oral surgeon next week to have 3 impacted wisdom teeth removed...no narcotics for that! but Ibprofen and tramadol are okay for me to take). To top it off, the valium didn't make me feel any better...like the first 30 minutes I was mellowed out, but after that I was more depressed than I was before. I enjoy my sobriety WAY TOO MUCH to go back down that path. I was a zombie before (I had a doctor who prescribed me 120 2mg xanax, 90 10 mg valium, 60 30mg adderall, 90 percocet 10 mg, each month...and that started when i was 17). When i look back on it, that dr should have his licensed pulled. Don't get me wrong, if pot didn't stay in your system for so long, I would toke up here and there, but I don't want to chance it. Thank you for your words. I'm hangin' in there....

I think you are OK.
1. The longest lasting metabolite of Valium (diazepam) is nordiazepam. It has a half-life of 30-100 hours. If you use 3 half-lives to negative, you will be negative within two weeks. 2. Will they test for Valium? Probably. An expanded or 10-panel test includes a test for benzodiazepines (such as Valium). A drugs of abuse or 5-panel test does not. I would guess that a probation test would use an expanded test. 3. Are benzos considered a narcotic? Yes. They are a controlled substance. Although the term narcotic sometimes refers to only opiods, narcotics are usually considered as drugs regulated by the Controlled Substances Act. |

No, suprisingly Nashville, TN. Thanks to that particular doctor, my sister now goes to him and is addicted to adderall and klonopin. She goes thru 60 adderall in about a week and a half...and with the klonopin, 30 1mg pills are gone within 3-5 days. My sister says she doesn't have a problem, because she "binge uses". Good Lord. Hence, the fact that she's not a fit mother at all (in reference to the situation with my nephew).

when i was getting tested the longest lasting drug to was valium! My doc said not to worry about it cause benzos stay in your system for a lot longer than marijuana will. I was like wtf i always thought and heard that mj is the hardest one to get to get out of ones system they now say that mj is basiclly gone in like 2 weeks but man that valium too me 3 more weeks to clear out of my system

I'm 5'5, weigh 120 lbs, very active, always drink cranberry juice, drink tons of water, sweat alot, etc. if not, how does sure jell work? could it work to block other things than THC. god, i feel so stupid right now.

your stress probably is the worst thing to come of this. if you only took it once you shouldn't be worried too much.

thanks for the words of hope.
it makes me feel a little better, but it's hard not to panic in a situation like this. but i think if i keep clean, drink green tea, cranberry juice, exercise, lose weight (i bought the green tea fat burner, today, since diazepam is fat soluble...shedding some pounds should help. lol taking milk thisle, cranberry pills and a vitamin B complex and regular exercise I should be okay. I tend to be a worrier over EVERYTHING....but with the situation at home with the loss of my nephew, it's just been really difficult. but i thank you for your words of hope, again. god bless.

haha, i wish, they are adorable animals...i actually got the nickname from my old room mate. he used to call me sweetchinchila....it 's from "anchorman" when ron burgandy jumps in the bear pit and says "oh, be calm, my sweetchinchila." it's stuck ever since. for a while when i was e-mailing resumes out i wondered why i never got responses back. with an email address like sweetchinchila86@yah oo.com, it's no suprise. when i think about it, "sweet chinchila" kinda sounds like some weird tantric sex position. thanks for the laugh :-P
