Hey all, I'd appreciate some knowledgeable input about this:

I had to take a saliva test today for a job that I'll (hopefully) be starting next week.

I had a hard time finding *solid* seeming information on the internet, but I did the best I could with what I found.

I'm about 6', 190, and I normally smoke .5 -.7 grams of mids a day.

I took the test today at about 3:20 PM. The last time I smoked was Tuesday at about 4 in the morning (so technically Wednesday), so there were about 60 hours between the last time I partook and the test.

I didn't so much as handle weed in the time between.

The day before the test, I basically exfoliated the inside of my mouth using a tooth brush and a 50/50 hydrogen peroxide/water mix, making sure to get the area between my cheek and gums, etc.

I did the same thing about two hours prior to the test.

About 20 minutes before the test, I rinsed and gargled with straight hydrogen peroxide and smoked a cigarette.

About 10 minutes before the test, I used three listerine breath strips (one on my tongue, one on either side of my mouth between my cheek and gums.)

The information I've read about saliva and THC detection has varied wildly.

I've read some people say that they've smoked the same day as the test and passed; I've read about another who failed when they hadn't smoked for a month (but they had done cocaine two weeks prior, and they didn't say which drug failed them).

From everything I've read, I think I *should* be in the clear.

But I won't find out until early next week, and yeah...I'm nervous.

Sorry for such a long post - but I figure the more accurate and detailed the information I provide, the better the quality of the information I can receive.

Thanks for the help in advance. Would really love to hear from someone who really knows their stuff regarding saliva testing.


PS - I *WILL* post back whether I passed or failed. So many people on the net don't follow up on that part, and we need to know this stuff.

I promised to throw up my results for future searchers, so here's an update:

Somehow, someway, they either lost or failed to submit my sample.

I was supposed to hear back about it by last Tuesday or Wednesday.

Instead, I got a call today asking me to retake the test...Tomorrow!

I came close to telling them to dig around and find my sample and to move on to the next applicant if they can't find it. This is way more messing around than a job that pays this little should require.

Anyway, I'll be taking the test again tomorrow in the afternoon.

It will have been right around 36 hours since my last smoke (since it's too late to take what I did last night back), so I think I should be fine.

Hopefully my results will be in by the end of the week...I really hope so, anyway.

I'll let the board know how it turns out for people looking around for real-world saliva test results in the future.

Found out the results just a few minutes ago. Only took a couple days to get them, too.

So after 38 hours, and normally smoking around .5 grams a day, the saliva test failed to detect any THC (or THC by-product, or whatever).

A few additional details -

A while before the test, I swished a 50/50 hydrogen peroxide/water solution around in my mouth and sort of exfoliated the insides of my cheeks, and the areas between my cheeks and gums with a toothbrush.

And about 5 minutes before the test, I placed one listerine breath strip on my tongue, and jammed one between my cheek and my gum on the bottom on both sides.

Also, I made sure they were fully dissolved before putting the swab in my mouth (as I thought they'd look askance at a swab that came back covered in green goo).

I don't know if either action had anything to do with my success, but I thought I'd throw it out there just in case they could help someone.
