question about drug test results
so I haven't puffed in 40 days, before that it was 3-5 days a week. I bought a home drug test which came back negative, but the price included lab testing if you wanted to confirm the result. I got the results today and it said I tested positive with a THC concentration of 23 ng/ml. is that considered a high amount even after not puffing for well over a month?

yes, i'm positive. this weekend will be six weeks since I have last smoked. I may have a piss test in a week or two, but i've read on several places of the internet where most jobs set the cutoff level at 50 ng/ml

Below is the Federal standard. It is the required standard for DOT testing and generally used for other testing.
The cut-off for the screening test is 50ng/ml. If this is positive, the cut-off for the confirmation test is 15ng/ml. |

im almost sure, but dont qoute me that drug screenings only detect anything above 50ng. and im saying this based off of the fact that as a teen i spent almost five years on probation and i was getting away with sneeking tokes daily and then drinking like red bull or monster which have a pretty big niacin containment and drinking little water and i did pass and my guidance councelor told me after telling him i chiefed down the night before on some dro to my self and then went in the next day and passed that shit

from the article on the front page about zero tolerence policies
"Nine of the fifteen states cited have "zero tolerance for cannabis metabolites". What this means is that if the inactive (read: non-impairing) THC metabolite (THC-COOH) is detected in the urine of a driver, that driver is impaired in the eyes of the law. (There are actually 17 states that have per se DUID laws, but Iowa, Minnesota, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Virginia, and Wisconsin exclude metabolites of cannabis.) Nevada and Ohio have 15 ng/ml levels which are very low; most workplace pre-employment screenings set the initial screening limit at 50 ng/ml. At the confirmation level of 15 ng/ml, the frequent cannabis user will be positive for perhaps as long as 15 weeks." |
