government job drug test

So i've accepted a civilian government job that is on an air force base in the engineering field and i've turned in all the necessary paperwork, etc. Do ALL government jobs drug test? My best friend's dad works in the same department I will be in and said that in 20 years he's never had a RANDOM drug test. But what I am wondering about is a PRE-EMPLOYMENT drug test. I called the human resources guy and he said he recieved my paperwork and forms today. I asked if there was anything I needed to do between now and when I would start and he just said that I was good to go and that I would be notified of a start time. I was just curious that since I will already be given a start date does that mean i'm in and that I won't have a piss test? Anyone have an opinion about this or any experience???

I should also mention that on all the paperwork/forms I had to fill out that there were only about 4 questions that asked if I had ever USED any illegal drugs, but did not explicitly say that employees are subject to pre-employment or random testing.

The job is on an air force base but I won't be living on it. I haven't smoked in 3 and a half weeks. before that I smoked maybe 5-6 days in a row, before that I had quit for 2 months

You're probably good if they ask for urine, hair is another story.

Lemme axe ya this, are you making six figures a year?

If you are I wouldn't worry about drug testing unless you're moving expensive shit or people in an official capacity.

Oh the irony, the minimum wage jobs are the ones they test for, the ones you need to be on drugs to do day in and day out...

not 6 figures a year but a good salary nonetheless... and the job definitely doesn't involve operating machinery, etc.

Just use Clear Test. It worked for me and I am a daily smoker.

Yes, there will definitely be a pre-employment screen. Probably no randoms unless something happens at work that makes them suspicious (like a workman's comp thing). Drink lots of coffee. Caffeine upregulates the enzyme that metabolizes cannabinoids. Google "cannabis cytochrome p450 oxidase" or something like that.
