Test results taking longer than normal = good or bad?

I took a urine test Monday for an employer. They said that usually the results should have been in by now, Wednesday , but are not. Assuming that there were no delays in transportation (the company is typically very punctual), would the most likely reason for the delay be that the test is positive, or the test is dilude? What could cause them to take so long?

On test day, 4 hours before the test, I detoxed with about 20,000% the recommend daily of b-complex, and took a major name brand detox drink from GNC, while drinking about a gallon of water that day. The last time I smoked was saturday night, one or two small hits, and several times over the past month, like 2-4 small hits per sitting.

I am very physically active, consider myself to be in decent shape with about 10-15% body fat, working out all the time, practicing MMA (trained hard both saturday and sunday). I sweat ALOT when i work out, and always drink about a gallon of water per day.

On a side note, for the past 2 months, ive been megadosing iodinine and potassium iodide for thyroid support. I heard those are good for detoxing things like flouride and bromide (perhaps THC?), but THC detox was not the purpose of my iodine consumpion.

Anyways, im just wondering what the delay could be.

A lot of the time a company won't tell you if you passed, only if you fail. in this case hearing nothing is a good thing.

If you know the company itself hasn't gotten the results that could mean you failed the initial screening and now they are confirming results with more advanced techniques (often times they to a cheap quick test that will show up positive for all positives, and also get some false positives. from here they confirm with a more expensive test).

Negative test: "Congrats, you start Monday!

Positive test: -crickets-

Usually.

I'll tell you this, the less money you'll be making, the faster the results.

2. Really, serious, you gonna pass?

SUBSTITUTE ALWAYS!

If no one is watching, use synthetic urine and stop guessing. You spent as much money on detox drinks that are iffy at best, if you are going to the trouble of trying to pull the wool, make sure you have all the aces.

Its different. Ive actually been pre-hired. All this week I have been training for the job. Got my uniform today , and will be finished with training tomorrow. The person who trains new employees mentioned to us (the two trainees) that our tests have not come back yet, which is very unusual. So, I already have the job. But if the drug screen comes back positive, i wont. The other guy is ex military and very anti drug. So i doubt theres anything wrong with his sample.

The job is for a very large security company.

I didnt use substitute urine, because I have passed or gotten dilude on previous tests a few years ago when i smoked very heavily. So i figure that now, being much less saturated with THC, it wouldnt be a problem.

Eh, you never know. Theres so many factors that go into THC metabolism and how fast etc that its just better to be safe than sorry. Go with synthetic urine.

Lol @ no one is looking. I've never taken a drug test for a job, but everyone i've taken for legal/rehabilitation reasons there has been someone watching me, and a i mean watching me

The urine sample should have been overnighted to the reference lab Monday night, tested Tuesday, and the results released Tuesday or Wednesday. I think both samples being delayed is a good sign.

Reasons for delay might include:
You providing the sample after the Fed Ex or UPS driver’s daily pick-up.
The reference lab being behind in it’s testing or reporting.
Something happened to the samples during shipment (unlikely).

If just your test were unreported, I would worry about:
The laboratory’s initial test (immunoassay) being positive and awaiting the confirmatory test (Quantitative GC/MS).
The MRO (Medical Review Officer) has not yet talked to you about a pending positive result.

In Cali, you can't observe the collection of urine for a pre-employment drug screen, I also believe although I am not 100% sure that if you are required to test due to an accident or injury you have up to 3 hours to report to the lab for testing. DOT rules are way different and I have little to no knowledge of DOT rules since all my experience is class C only.
