yea most def not alone.

i haven't smoked at all in 6 months, aside from a week long 'relapse' due to frequent drug testing. it sucks but you learn to live with it, even when constantly surrounded by it.

Well, this company used to not test at all, then some dumbass was calling his dealer on the work phone and a co-worker heard him, but didn't say anything. Until later, he gossiped some of her "business", so she told on him, and they started testing. Tested him immediately and he got sent home for a week. Tested again about a month later and he was fired. Then they let it drop for a year or so, then changed to saliva test and did a few, then dropped it again, for about 2 years. Don't know what got them started again, course their explanation was "to keep their drug-free workplace certification". I know my state offers a big discount on the workman's comp insurance if they do it. Now they went back to piss and taking ya to the lab.
Actually when they first started I wrote the GM at the time, a cool NL dude, with an anonymous email, telling him, I thought it was wrong, telling him, they were going to lose a lot of good people, cause some folks would quit immediately, then some would for awhile and take a chance, and some have smoking ingrained in their lifestyle and would refuse to quit. How it was an invasion into our private lives, and as long as no one was doing it at work, it should be none of their business. I screwed up a little later and sent a guy an email about a pot festival, from my work email to his work email and I think they were checking folks and found it. Hence, I was discovered as prolly the one that wrote the email to the GM. They never mentioned it to me at all, but I was getting some really strange looks from some of management for awhile, so I am sure they knew. So far, I have never been tested... I have wondered if I have just been lucky, or they put me on the "do not test list".
