First grow, Help
I'v had these two growing for about 2 weeks. I'm using CFL's if that information is needed.
Ok... The more developed one is starting to curl, i was told that this may be due to over watering. Not too sure myself though. If this is due to over-watering what are some tips to know when to water and when not to water. As of now i water everytime i check on them, which is 1-2 times a day. Also... The less developed one has been doing very good, its much taller then the other and the leaves are already bigger than the others first set of leaves. Today during my daily check-up I noticed that a small part of one of the leaves has been whats looks like biten off. Can anybody tell me what this is and what to do to stop it. (If its mites wouldnt the other have bite marks also??) |

Just a few things........bear with me~
You must arm yourself with the Nutrient Deficiency Chart, when Dan threw that up, I was like in weed heaven. And what is your soil recipe? I need to know wether poor in nitrogen....... Have you got a fan on 'em? Is there ventilation? Plant a garlic bulb in each plant.........again Dan had mentioned that and sure enough I was growing garlic too...... Stickies are good too.......but I do believe that first you must identify which varmit you have. Only water when the pots are light...........I find that keeping 'em slighty on the dry side that I have greater chances of getting females. And what are you using to fertilize? Do you let your water sit 24 hours before use to evaporate the non-essentials that some from city water. And what is the ppm and ph of your water? Sorry about all the q's, but they will be answered before the Sun sets in Texas.

WOW,
Thanks for taking your time evaluating my problem, im a first time grower and all this new to me. bare with me please. 1st off, what is the Nutrient Deficiency Chart?? Yes, theres ventilation , I have a fan going most of them time. Im a confused about this garlic thing, can you explain alil bit more. Stickies?? I am using no ferts right now, due to being new, I thought I woulnt use any until I got the hang of it and they were a lil bigger. I use bottled water to wayer them, does this still need to be sitting for 24 hours before i can use it? I might have away to check the ph of my water, ill look after I have further help thanks so much, |

Oh and BTW, Im almost certain I have mites on both plants,
I put the plants in my garage where its cold, because i read that mites cant live in too cold of weather. I only put the plants in there for a couple hours, it didnt seam to hurt it anymore than they already were. Hopefully I can get out today and buy some ladybugs, I did some research and they are pretty cheap and effective. |

mm its better to try and save the plants then kill the bugs cuz it hurts the plants too go to the nearest store where they have gardening supplies and get mite dust or something

For mites, try Sunlight (brand) dishwashing liquid, diluted 1 drop to 3 oz water. 12 oz = 4 drops, 16 oz = 5 drops.
Mist the plant with this, make sure you get under the leaves. Let dry 20 minutes. Mist/rinse with clean water. Do this 2 ot 4 times daily till the mites go away, then every other day for a week, then once a week. ----- That one leaf looks more gnawed than anything to me, like from a caterpiller or wandering herbivorous bug. Can you actually see the bugs? If they look like tiny red slivers, or tiny gnats, those are (semi) ok. If you have to use a magnifier, and find them under/inside your leaves, and see little tiny webs under your leaves... that's more like mites. Tiny green caterpillers (inchworms & smaller) are also sometimes hard to spot.

Don't forget the recipe that uses rubbing alcohol diluted slightly.
I tried it and it worked......but u must repeat every 3 days. Usually twice does the trick......but u don't do this under the HPS........

HEY,
Just wanted to post an update on the babies. I'v got the mites under control after a few days battling them with different remedys. The first set of leaves were completely yellowed and dried out in the first baby, I trimmed those off and and the other set which was about 80% yellowed and it has really shot up since then. I was wondering if the experts on yahooka would be able to tell if these are of any perticular strian. They are from bagseed, But I saved up the seeds from many different smokes with buddies that get pretty good bud. One being NL, does the second baby show characteristics of NL at all. It sprouted about 5 days later than babie 1 and seems to grow a lot quicker. Isnt this a characteristc of NL (Well adapted to indoor growing) also I noticed the leaves are thinner and longer like NL right?? Thanks, P.S. Baby 1 is refering to the one that only has 1 pic of the single plant in it. Baby 2 is the one with two single pics of the it. |

Wunderblüten??
lol, Is this an actual strain, or am I being made fun of here. P.S. I'll be sure try that watering technique, the medium I have them in is just a sprouting medium (Bascially Peat). I bought a bag of miracle grow potting soil with added ferts, supposed to be pretty good. Until they out grow their pots im keeping them in the Peat type medium. Im feeding them diluted Nutes till then. Seems to be pleasing them. Remember this IS my first attempt. Any Input would be appreciated. Thanks. |
