Hey had an infestation in my plants which I thought was in control. I started to harvest my precious crops and well I hung them up to dry, went in to check on them and what did I find? A crap load of them mites at the top of the stem where I cut them. I sprayed diluted soap water on them to control them since yesterday morning and I see no difference. Am I screwed at this point what can I do at this stage without ruining my harvest?

If it was mites, I would suggest a water cure.
If you decide to go that way I'll either find the thread I did on it or repost it for you.

Well these were the same ones that appeared the weeks into flowering. They created webs from the head of the plant and on the leaves. They were appearing in like a yellowish color, clustering in some parts.
I was preparing to harvest them and the next day what I saw at the tip where it cut was like a bunch of these insects. I don't know what they are called but they appeared to be the same insect that was on the flowers the past weeks. I only said it was spider mites because someone one on here said it could be that. And because there is visible webbing in the areas they were. |

The webcam picture didn't do a good job taking the pics but I will describe what was on the leaves. There was small black things under the leaves and a friend of mine examined it and it was insects.
After we tried to figure out what kind of insect they were we noticed webbing and thought like a garden spider got in the plants so we checked all of them and didn't find any spiders. Less then a week after flowering the webs became more and more visible and there seem to be yellowish pod like things in clusters on the webbing and some dangling on a thread of web. they were moving. I dunno if they were eggs or what. I followed the suggestions posted on here and used the kill on contact by hand and water diluted soap, which worked. But now as I harvest my fruits of labor, the same sac like things have plastered themselves at the cut edge of the stem where it was cut. Looks like hundreds of them just clustered there, with thin webbing. Anyways I got fed up and took a mini torch and torched the edges the other night, but they keep coming back. I used a mild soap now with lots of water to just dip the edge of the plant in for a few seconds and just cut the infested part off before preparing to trim the buds. As this is still the first time I'm doing this, I'll use the suggestions from the my previous post avoid finding surprises again. If there are other suggestions let me know. Thanks to everyone who offered help here! |
