I saw a tv show and it was video taken from one of those units during a fly over. It has a way bigger heat signature than you think (the HID).
There's a thread somewhere that has a link to a retailer of a "special" roll insulator material that is very thin and makes claims it will hide the heat signature of grows. Looks like thick black poly IIR.
It would take a shit load of friction-fit (fibreglass) or rigid insulation to hide it... like waay more than a few feet thick.

^^^ indeed. Polyshield is the brand name, it is black, and it does work ( see previous post ). But, it costs a shitload! But it's cheaper than getting busted!
