24/24 = constant.

12/24 = 12 out of 24 ie half the time.

So would it be better to go 14/10 before going 12/12?

Some sativas have a tendency to keep vegging even under 12/24 so some run them at 14/10. Also some people give them 36 hrs ish under darkness to kickstart them into flowering. Not sure how much it actually helps.

Ha I just realised how confusing this is. 14/10 means 14 hrs of darkness and 10 hrs of light.

maybe should read 10/14, I thought it was 14 on 10 off myself
I have heard the same thing about equitorial sativas myself.
