I got an outdoor potty with a big pile of human shit. Would it be worth growing a plant in this or is that just plain wrong?

I would think more like 60/40 or even 70/30 soil to poo. But I've also never grown past a seedling, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

im no expert but i think that you ont want to use human poo while its 'hot' as in not a bit decomposed.

check with someone who knows more about composing, but i think if you added it to a compost mix it would help it decay faster and make a really good soil mix (with some dirt and perlite or something for air)

It has something to do with how they digest their food, which is made up of grass, hay, and relatively simple grains.

We spread the horse's manure on the fields to replenish the nutrients in the soil. Lol, I just thought about how the grass that's digested and spread onto the fields, is the same grass that came from the fields.

This is correct. If you used raw sewage it would stink. Also you`d want to worry about handling the weed (bacteria etc), not that the cell matter of the plants would be contaminated, rather that bacteria could get splashed onto the outside of plant by water or whatever, because bud is sticky it`s not as if you could wash it like a lettuce or a carrot before use.

However human shit will be rich in nutrients, if properly composted you could use it in a soil mix.
It`s probably going to be pretty hot in nutrients (depending on the diet of course) so I`m not sure what proportions you`d use in the soil mix, you certainly wouldn`t want to use it (or any other manure for that matter) neat.

I`d give it at least a year to compost personally.

You could also bake it in an oven but this would really stink.

i think there might be too high a level of ammonia in human feces, but I might be totally off base... I think I may have heard that about pet feces (dogs, cats).

Depending on the diet, health and lifestyle of the "donor" there could be a number of things in there you don`t really want anything to do with.
