Bug control
Not sure if its been discussed or not, but I thought I would share my findings. As you can see from the pics my plants have a room mate which enjoys long walks on the beach and fine dining. mainly the pesky gnats which came with the soil i use.
A venus fly trap costs 5$US at my local lowes and they do in fact eat bugs. quite a few actually. So if you've ever seen them and wondered, it might be worth a shot. They also had pitcher plants and dew trap plants. I think that they would be even more effective because neither of which require an open 'mouth' to lure insects. obviously they aren't going to solve any infestion problems and I doubt they have any effect on spider mites and the like. however if you've ever walked in to check your babies and noticed a couple gnats flying around, one of these might give you a little satisfaction knowing that they have a chance to die a slow and embarrassing death in the mouth of a green monster. tig

Ha ha ha, gotta laugh seeing a gnat get eaten.
I always leave spiders (not mites!) to their own devices, I figure they prey on pests. Ladybugs are always welcome too .

Darn ladybugs tend to fly into the lights
![]() We have had a plethora of spiders the last couple of years, I like em. No pest strips and spiders would be the way I would go.
