Cleaning Air / Cooling / Exhaust / - Advice

Hello Everyone!

Well, I am still working on this new grow setup I am about 90% done however there are some issues I need help with and I don't know which was is the best way to go about it. Any suggestions or comments are appreciated.

In my flowering room, I am going to need to exhaust all the hot air out which means when my thermostat see's that the room is now 80 degrees it's going to try to drop it to 72 degrees. I am going to get cool air from a room next door which is always around 65-70 degrees.

Remember I am going to have a 600W HPS in a 6L x 4W x 8H room.

First Scenario

Picture this. Carbon Filter-->Exhaust Inline Fan-->Duct Going Outside.

The Exhaust Fan is going to be used for my "cooling" so my thermostat is only going to kick on the exhaust fan when the temperature starts going over the temperature threshold I set which means my flowering room is going to stink up my place because I don't think the exhaust fan is going to be running 24/7, cause it's going to be controlled by my thermostat.

Second Scenario

Have 1 exhaust inline fan that is NOT hooked up to a carbon filter which leads outside. Exhaust Fan--> Duck Going Outside. (I know, stinky air goes outside without being cleaned read blow)

WITH

Another inline fan hooked up to a filter which stays in the flowering room and keeps recycling the air inside the flowering room so that the hot air which is pushed out isn't stinky.

Filter-->Inline Exhaust Fan (Inside Flowering Room) in conjunction with the setup above. So, the air is going to be filtered and recycled all the time cause I can have this run 24/7 if need be.

I hope this makes sense, please give me advise I could really use it. I maybe over thinking this, but I can't afford my neighbors getting suspicious even though one of them is a pot head.

Thanks,

The plants don't give off so quite so much smell when the lights are off.
Also, if the fan is not exhausting air, the smell won't spread so quick. However some smell would probably still leak out if the fan was off.

I'd advise against exhausting unfiltered air, if stealth is an issue at all.. get a carbon filter.

You can buy a fan speed control thermostat which, instead of turning off the fan when the temp goes low, slows the fan speed down.
This way negative pressure is maintained in the room even when the lights are off.

Or just leave the fan on full all the time if you can't afford the controller.

Plants do like some air movement in the dark, humidity may climb too high otherwise.

IMO, the exhaust fan should never stop running at any point. Air flow is so important. The exhaust that empties outside should absolutely be hooked up to a carbon filter regardless of what you have in the room to scrub the air. Also, the exhaust is probably not going to be the main factor regarding the lowering of your temperatures. The inline fan that brings in the cool air will be what cools down the room. So I would recommend setting up your thermostat to the fan that will be pushing cool air into the room, rather than setting it up to the exhaust fan that will be trying to push hot air out. It is much easier that way.

Also, what is the temp/humidity of your room usually, without anything in it? A 600w HPS in the room you described might not be that bad at all depending on where the room is located. If it's in a basement, you shouldn't have to worry about heat with one 600w HPS, unless you are in a hot climate, especially considering you have another room that is relatively cool that you can suck air from. Also, consider what the temps are like during the day and at night. If you are in a hot climate, then you could consider keeping your lights off during the day and keeping them on during the night to offset the temperature difference. Either way, it's tough for me to say without more information.

Thanks FG & TGD, great advise!

TGD, these are brand new grow rooms I am setting up. One for Veg & One for Flower. So I have no idea of temp/humidity etc, I wanted to plan my grow room out the best I can before I start planting babies.

Thanks,
