Why does my BHO taste like ass?

Friend had a bunch of plants that got fucked up, too much dark for too long and he got frustrated with his girlfriend and yanked 'em out...

Not my story to tell.

Anyway he says here's a bag of premature plants to play with. Some tiny nugglets, a few beginning flowers.

Same butane as always, same apparatus as always. They're supposed to be good plants but the oil is dark and tastes like homegrown schwag.

Any tips?

I mean we've made good oil from shit plants from the back yard before, what's going on?

maybe there was some nasty fertilizer he was using? maybe the company that makes the butane changed their recipe? maybe a spider crawled into your device and now ur smoking spider oil? i dunno

btw do u water cure first? been thinking about making some bho with brick weed but i figured this would have to be the first step so as not to end up wth something nasty

Dude we have used straight trim and leaves before, dried out in a cardboard box on a shelf in my garage and came away with decent wax but all we're getting here is a dark green gooey mess. It smokes like oil but tastes very 'planty' with a strong garden like aftertaste.

Maybe it was the nutes, I'ma have to ask I guess.

Shame, I got a fuck ton of this shit.

I don't know if you have a beaker, or something like it, but if you could run the subpar bho back through a butane wash, it makes sense you could wash out the chlorophyll/ whatever contaminant

if not that, isopropyl alcohol, 99%, will dissolve the cannabinoids, and should leave a lot of the crap behind-just filter and dry without any flame. this may very well change the consistency, i have not experimented in this personally-but the concepts are sound.

you extracted mostly plant material you cant get any thing out of premature plants. What your doing is extracting the thc crystal only. Premature plants dont have nearly enough to use. Even some strains are no good for resin production. the stuff you got is worthless.
