CO2 & Flowering (THC Negative Effect?)

Hey guys/gals,

I am doing some research on CO2 and I came across this site which was interesting and thought I would share this with everyone here.

CO2 Cannabis | The Grow Closet.com

Maria Juana - Says

"If you’re considering adding CO2 to your grow space, it’s important to remember that it should only be used during the vegetative (plant growth) stage and not the flowering stage. Higher levels of CO2 during the all-important flowering stage have a negative effect on THC’s chemical development process, and can seriously weaken the potency of your plants.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

CO2 might tend to make buds less dense but I've never heard of it decreasing potency..
I've seen a few grows where CO2 was used right until the end of flowering.

The plant will only absorb as much CO2 as it needs, any left over shouldn't do any harm.

In any case levels of CO2 need not be too high or it is wasted.

Maria Juana lol .

I've never used CO2 myself.

IMO money spent on CO2 is almost always better spent on ventilation instead, unless you want to run a sealed room.

CO2 enrichment does enable plants to thrive at higher temperatures- but if ventilation was improved this would usually lower temps anyway...

Air contains only 0.039% CO2 but if you keep replenishing the air you also replenish the CO2. Plants can only use CO2 as fast as they photosynthesise. So if your fan is bringing in enough fresh air then all is good for CO2.

If you run a sealed room the CO2 is used up so you have to replace it.

first thought is bs.

unless the co2 is so high it's saturating the roots.

...and then root rot/mold/fungus might become more of a problem.

I've never felt the need for co2 .

I actually purchased a CO2 tank for the new grow room which I wanted to use just for flowering, again, do I need it? probably not, but it may not be a bad idea just to throw a tad bit more CO2 in the room, than what is in there normally. I will report back my findings.

Thanks,

Could the air being saturated with co2 possibly affect the THC itself? chemical reaction type stuff?

i have no idea, but im thinking no to my own question... as i think people do co2 thc extractions.

idk just food for thought

I'd say no too- like you say fb the potency is not diminished by CO2 extraction?
