Outdoor 101 Grow Faq

Outdoors 101

I'm gonna share some outdoor grow techniques an time savers that I've used to get in exceptional
crops of high quality cannabis for several grow seasons. more than I'd like to admit, but I started
growing as soon as I realized the commercial mexican sativa we bought back in 1973 texas had
seeds that grew.several failed seasons later I has been reading hightimes and sensimilla tips that
a new generation of growing techniques produced weed I wished I could buy, much less grow myself.
my growing experience lies at 32degrees latitude in small town Texas at about 420 foot above sea
level.our grow season is from mid march till the end of november.humidity runs about 40% average, even
in 105 degree summer days.
I'm gonna break this information up into sections :

1) location
2)security
3)equipment(supplies ,genetics,transporta tion)
4)site preparation
5)maintenance(varmin t deterants,watering,p lant manipulation)
6)harvest

lets keep questions and observations confined to another thread so the initial thread won't become
crowded and clouded with extra type.thanks

section 1) Location
Location seems to be the hardest part for me to accomplish succesfully.not because I've ever had
any plants found.just because I don't want any lost or found.I'm gonna break outdoor growers into 2
types, guerilla and stealth.Guerilla growers;the hardcore growers who have to travel to grow but have
the attitude"I've gotta get it done" at all cost.the stealth grower has a secure spot on or near his own
property to grow on.
for both types of growers the first concern I try to satisfy is availabilty of water. to succesfully bring
in a crop of premium cannabis water must be within no more than a few hundred yards at most.you
will be haulin' water, trust me.a 5 gallon bucket of water filled up to 4 gallons weighs 24 lb.s approx.
and it's easier to carry 2 buckets at the same time , for balance. and a 10 plant plot will take 8 -12
gallons 2-3 times a week if you don't recieve any rain to help your efforts.
I travel backroads in the vicintiy of where I live looking for creeks that cross the road.check and see that
they run year round so you don't run out of water mid-summer.you also might save a step with local
maps of your area that show creeks so you can see how they travel and where they lie. next take
a cross country hike along these creeks looking for treelines orpatches of weeds or woods to use as
cover for your plants. the cover only need be 4-5 feet tall to be used as cover for your garden.as you wander
along the creek look for sunlight on the ground near cover.try to avoid locations near evergreens or
pine trees of any sort as they are too acidic to grow near and you'll waste your efforts.try and locate
as many possible growsites as possible and also use a rule of thumb to only grow 10 plants per site
for security reasons.if they're found or lost for some unforseen reason, you won't lose the whole farm in
one swipe.before you commit to your new found spots visit them more than once before you do any
preperation to scout for signs of other humans or livestock around your spots. any signs of other
activity will almost surely be reason to forget that spot and move on to more secure sites.I'm not
saying don't grow near a road or population, sometimes what seems obvious becomes invisible to people.
I don't recommend seeing how much you can test that theory because any losses are hard to take.
some of the best places I've found to plant on are large company properties such as paper company
land(steer clear of the evergreens),mining company lands, utility company lands(not wireway right of
way's)and private farmlands(not livestock). In the U.S. we have a thing called forfiture laws and if you
are caught growing on your own property it can be siezed from you without trial.I have grown on my own
property and will again in the future.it's something you must consider seriously and not take lightly.next I'll go into security and securing the site.

i need some advice for picking an outdoor strain, i got a 144 acre yard thats pretty much 98% trees and bush with several fresh water sources spread out through my property, my growing season is relatively short cause i live in northern ontario but i live near one of the great lakes so the weather stays pretty decent. what strain[s] would you guys reccomend for me ,i'm looking for something incredibly easy to grow with at least moderate yield and potency and i like to go biking and swimming when i'm high so i dont want to any couchlock strains either.

Swiss mis sounds good to me form the breeders description, but I havn;t heard of or seen many grow reports on it. I might just go cheap and buy and outdoor mix and hopefuly some will turn out nice.

yeah but i always like to have at least a second opinion when it comes to me spending a few weeks savings and several months of work. i want to be as successful as possible so i can sell weed to all my friends at incredibly low prices , just enough to cover the expenses of growing and my profit will be in the good times me and my friends have smoking.

Early Girl is oft used in Europe but I Mighty Mite derivatives are pretty popular in Canada.

Lightbulb I ain't fergot ya'll

My Bad,
bad buzz, bad buzz.heh;I should of been finished or a lot further along by now than I am.the wife's bogartin' the stash cause I'm slackin' she say's. No excuses. just believe me when I type I'm gonna get back at it monday or tuesday.WORD.
a favorite choice of mine for outdoor is northern lights, or northern lights #5. they grow up to 6 foot in my region;they're quite pest resistant;they also don't have much of a budrot problem if the weather gets to moist for several days.they're also a great choice for a learning and experiencing grower(newb).they take quite a good dose of nutrients and utilize them faster than many other strains. I've gotten yields of up to 3/4 lb. per plant .
well, see ya in the funny paper's,
ThcBuz

i have been thinking about planting a few seeds outdoors this summer, i don't expect to get anything out of it, because it will be poorly planned and strictly experiemental

maybe i'll learn a thing or two though

Early girl is the way to go bro. I live in northern ontario too. I grow a few every year. Yields usually great and it gives you more of a head high so bikin and swimmin is sick when you blaze it.
