That "member" icon is pointless and retarded. it's already established how long people have been a member for via the color of one's name and the fucking join date that's visible to everyone when one posts. Mods are recognized by the color of their user names as well..

Durrr, not sure if you knew i was a member or not so there is a giant tag stating that fact. ive registered a name and am posting but just in case it flew over your head, look at the giant tag below my user name!!

One mb that I frequent has a "tag line" that can be edited by the user, situated below their avatar, and a "title" so to speak, which is where the "custom user title" is that can only be modified by admins. Kind of like the color of peoples names... IMO if you want to place permanent labels on people, you should put it where the custom user title is, and have an option under the avatar for people to write whatever they want... the member tag is too obtrusive and detracts from the uniqueness of peoples internet identities... feel me?
