Can we get a little more time on the thread preview??
You know how you can curse over a thread title to get a glimpse at how it starts out?
Well can we get that box to stay for more than TWO SECONDS? I know we curse over it again to bring it back up but then I lose my place. Five seconds should do 'er. |

I don't care about the length of time it stays, what I'm not fond of is how quickly it pops up... I liked how there was a second or two buffer before.
Not a huge problem, or threadworthy even. Just my 2cents

It should be 5 seconds and it's a browser setting not YaHooka.com.
Firefox - 5 seconds IE - 7 seconds I'll see if I can find a manual fix. Firefox Addin to set previews as long as the mouse remains hovering: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/11233 Last edited by ResidualEnvy; 10-12-2009 at 06:03 AM. |

It's really convenient, especially when the connection's slow and you don't want to open the thread. However, it sucks when you have a bunch of little preview windows get in your way.
It's very effective here. Some sites seem to have the previews spring up instantly and stay for 5 seconds even if your mouse isn't over it, and multiple windows stay open at once. RE, you mention that it's a browser setting, but it's clearly different on different sites/forums.

RE is right, it's something your browser does, most modern browsers support the alt (i believe) attribute. the only thing RE could control is the length of the excerpt of the OP. Everything else is browser dependant. What osirus is describing sounds to me like some CSS hover voodoo, which I would rather we did not implement.

The Firefox addin I posted will allow you to control the time of the display. The only thing I can control is the length of the display. |
