Hello good people of Yahooka, I hope you are well.

Might I suggest a different point system? A plus minus system if you will. As you irresistibly attractive hotties probably already know, we currently have a + only system.

I believe the sexy members of yahooka will reap the many benefits of said proposed system because in a way it allows the attractive, intelligent community to self moderate themselves, easing the high pressure, strenuous jobs of the poor moderators.

Few can ignore a number beside their name displaying, clearly to all, the way others think of them, therefore bringing attention to their posting habits. In a large majority of cases, it will allow them to reconsider the way they come across to the board of messages.

I hereby humbly submit this idea to you - the absolute definitive of attractiveness and intelligence - Yahooka.

I kid, I kid. In all honesty though, I'm really "meh" about the whole points system thing.

However, I can get onboard with the spacing and caps thing.

I don't think a point system would work, because people could put you down without merit.

As for the thanks system, it's just a pat on the back for wise words (most of the time).

The point system you refer to, seems childish / popularity contest like.

i.e. 'Oh I don't like that guy!' *click click click* And now he's at like -50 when because one person doesn't like them whilst they're still an asset to the community contributing to the growing forum or something.

you can only smite/applaud a member once per day. therefore, people who have high + or - will have earned it. you can't spam smite someone - it's a collective community thing. yaknow?

thinking about it, though, this community is pretty small and everyone knows everyone so yeah, maybe it's pointless.

Well that is 1 super 1 admin that are for it, at least.

your + - thing imo seems the object of debate.

Although I'm not sure if the current Admins know how to get into the controls to change the caps/space thing...so please have patience.

man i'm not expecting things to change right away, if ever. i'm just giving feedback in the feedback forum.

this pm to ASG seemed to help clarify to her what im trying to say in regards to the + - system. i'll post it here:

yes the thank you button being a "+"

think of it as a karma system. you can applaud or smite a post based on your opinion of it. You can smite or applaud any member only once per day. (obviously you don't have to do either if you don't want too)

I really think it's silly to have one without the other. in my opinion get rid of the thanks button all together or implement the smite along side the ty button.

I realize my idea is less than popular but man it would so totally let the forum moderate itself. i've seen it in action.

I suppose I'm basing the whole self moderation thing on the fact that people will care about their 'karma count'. and even if they don't, they will be clearly marked as a douchebag. for example: someone disguises www.omfgcutekittenslol.com to be a tubgirl link, said person will most likely get bad karma points. did he deserve it?

but the more I think about it, i believe the + - system is for larger MBs where there is a ton of bad posters/trolls registering/posting everyday and we don't have that problem here.

It's also generally, in my experience, for more serious boards. There's a lot of good here, but there's also a lot of BSing. Swhy the 'Thanks' button works. Because it's not hurting anybody if they don't get them. Karma wouldn't work here because we'd all be fuckin around with eachother and givin eachother negative karma for fun. I think it'd be a blast, but I doubt it'd ever happen here, just because it would cause more bitchfits.
