clarification of photoshopping rules

I just wanted to clarify, because it seemed to me that the approach of "limited modding" had been more or less firmly established here.

so i was told by a mod (asg) that the rule for photoshopping is at present the following :

"The Photoshopping rule has been discussed at length lately. Unless someone has given permission to have their pics ps'd, you can't photoshop pics...which includes stills of vids. "

.... first of all id like to know if that is indeed "the rule"

2nd, id like to know why, if people can quote other peoples words and characterize them however they want, without that persons permission, how is altering a photo someone posts without their permission any different?

are we now establishing 2 seperate standards for content on here- text may be used any way you want, but photos cannot be photoshopped without express permission?

kinda sounds odd to me, i guess im just uh... smart?

any other mod or admin care to comment?

You can't look around for yourself to find this rule? And where it's been discussed at length lately? Really?

Again, that's the rule. How many times do you have to hear it?

i'm not fighting with you. i informed you, more than once in pm's what the rule is. any other admin or mod is going to tell you the same thing.

well hopefully someone else can explain to me the parts of your "informing" that seem to be less than clear.

...and if by more than once you mean twice ok, but u only sent me 2 pms and neither of them explained it any better than u did here, hence my request for clarification from another mod or admin (see post 1 if u want to hear my questions again).

I'm not a mod or admin, but I slept at a Holiday Inn last night so here's my best shot:

Unless someone has given permission to have their pics ps'd, you can't photoshop pics.

no. these are not 2 separate issues. jerkface pootyhead behavior of any kind, expressed through text or pictures or any other means, is unwelcome and may be deleted.

.... well im glad to see that veda is going to be monitoring rude and unkind behavior and editing it from now on- altho i sense the danger in such selective editing.

u guys seriously woulnt last a second in the real world.

well you and asg enunciated completely different standards . so now im even more confused.
