Thoughts on increasing membership?

Let's face facts...

...more and more, green names are becoming the majority posters here, and considering what it takes to get a green name, yahooka's growth [and possible downfall] is related to the [lack of] people viewing and contributing to our beloved forums.

What are your thoughts on expanding our member base?

We do have some good newbie growers.

Wish it would achieve more of a critical mass though..

In the past it seems that the ole' greens haven't been so nice to the blues and they don't stick around all that long

Just running the numbers, we have lots of guest views but membership signup has slowed significantly. Don't get me wrong, I'm quite pleased that we have so many long time members, shows that we have something of great quality here, but any website needs constant fresh blood and more perspective.

Plus I want to see more and more bluewbies turning green in the future.

to me it seems that we've had more newbs posting their introductions than usual. i think if we were to encourage the introductory post then perhaps more people would feel the warmth of the yahooka

let's run an ad in high times

but free of charge

if we all have like a not competition, but somewhere where we all rally and write up a big essay/report as to why it would be beneficial for high times to publish our ad

all the mod and admins could go through our entries and sum it up to all the best points

then we yahooka as a whole write a communal letter to high times and give it a shot

We have to face the fact that YaHooka.com as a website is pathetic. This forum is an offshoot of a page which has ceased to serve any purpose. The reason I came here in the first place was because the homepage used to be one of those internet phonebooky things for marijuana websites (wtf are they called again? no one uses them anymore).

Grasscity has clearly won because they have *leadership* and their site *does* something.

Id say thats on the mods to change things, perhaps take a look at the dmt-nexus attitude clause for their message board, sure does make things a lot more pleasant, although at times a bit dull.
