Uploading the same image twice

Sometimes, when uploading an image to attach to a post, I get told by the server that I've already uploaded it in a previous post, so I can't attach it again. My question is, how can I access said previously uploaded image so that I can put it in the new post?

The Right Way: find post, find image, right click, save image url, paste into new post...

or

What will really happen: look 5 min for post, click new post button, take toke, look at new posts, fap, toke, think up clever response to thread full of lulz, try to post image, get mad because you can't post same image again...

Never ran into that problem but 2 possibilities come to mind as a work-around:

1. Rename the file before inserting it into post, or

2. Shave a pixel from 2 sides in your paint program of choice, save with different name, then try.

Maybe??

I've done all those, but only shaving a pixel and saving with a new name allows you to upload it again. For some reason, the server doesn't parse URLs that refer back to images uploaded to it (or, at least, it hasn't worked for me in the past). As for simply rename and re-upload, the server is too smart to fall for that shit.

Besides, I figured if you're told that the image is already uploaded, then you should be able to access it in some reasonable way again (not by having to go hunting for it in 3 year old posts).
