Name change

I want my old name back, so what I want to happen is either of these 2 things:

1)unban my old name, and delete this account
2)change this name to my old one, if a duplicate is impossible, then add the number "3" to it (since I had 2 banned also)

Who were you before, and why were you banned ?

It is between rare and impossible to get an account deleted these days.

What could happen, is have one of your old accounts unbanned/changed then ask for all those old ones and this one to be combined.

Depends on the mods/adimns and why you were banned.

SoK. I was banned for talkin smack, it was kinda intentional.

That is weak. There is 1 forum I was on where you could change your name yourself, and delete your own account if you wanted... why would they make it difficult, especially on here given the subject matter?

All comments about WHY you were banned SOK.....

These 'unbannings' have happened in the past.....

BUT....

The person who is unbanned has REALLY REALLY REALLY changed....
And became someone different, changing a 180 degrees from the actions which they were banned for...

And it has usually taken 2-3 years for that change of heart to happen.
For that member... and for the mods....

I can only think of 2-3 members who have been brought back from a perma-ban and that was because their alt was so well behaved for so long....

BUT....

You my Friend have a long way to go before you even stand a chance of get back SoK, which isn't a promise that it will EVER get to that point given the space and time between your bannings...

Not that you are a bad guy... don't get me wrong....

I'm just saying, if there is ANY chance of this happening, it's a long ways away off, and the way you conduct yourself needs to show repentance, apologizing for the errors you made and then living out those actions through the continuation of being a moderate, calm, not necessarily kind,

Generally speaking... not a trouble maker anymore to any extent....

All that said.... it's a big 'IF', and this is NOT a promise of any kind, but just a transparent 'these are a few exceptions to the rule and this is how it was achieved'....

We don't need stuff like that, nor do members need these kind of comments directed at them either.... so SoK was banned, because this behaviour started up pretty much after he got back from a previous ban, which was for what... I don't recall.

Basically it comes down to people expecting favors when they aren't doing anyone any favors....

Rather instead... are actually actively creating 'unfavor-able-ness' with their presence.

That isn't to say I mind him being here...

But there are people who dig their own graves more than others...

Last time SoK was here and came back from a 6 month ban he was rebanned 10 days later for much the same reasons...

Like I said... if people want favors concerning banned names, especially, they should be doing everything in their power to help us believe we ought to even consider it.

At best right now I'd merge the SoK account into Dhomley, maybe give him his join date and post count, but not the SoK name.... but I don't act alone, nor do I have the actual controls to do that Admin function...

That is about as 'middle way' as I'd go right now... but.... it has to be agreed upon and there has to be an Admin willing to do it.

I say he ought to just ride if out as Dhomley for a long while and see what happens...

Miracles have occurred around here...

Changes of hearts on all sides are able to happen....

Right now and SoK by any other name is still an SoK....
